Hampton Inn & Suites Richmond - Downtown

We love everything about this hotel. The location and the staff are amazing. It is our go to hotel anytime we come to Richmond. The only thing that I did not like was that our room did not have curtains that closed. So when the sun came up it shined directly into our room, making it hard for us to sleep in.

It was a great hotel. We were there for a wedding!

The only thing that was a problem was our room door didn’t close properly and you had to pull it shut and really put your weight into it to open it.

Location was fine. Older building with some light cosmetic wear in rooms. I lowkey loved the elevator but that’s coming from a recent stay in Charlotte with terrible elevators. My suite was decent. View was solid. The pullout looked questionable in terms of cleanliness. And room had a light musty odor like recent water damage or something.. But overall very comfortable sleep. And enjoyed breakfast each morning. Maybe have more than 1 waffle machine for a building that accommodates so many guests.

Front of staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Not rooftop Lounge where you could see the city from 365 °, Magnifique! No hot water in the shower but maintenance was sent quickly to fix it water was not spoiling hot but it wasn't cold either great fix was able to shower!

The elevators are nice but the one elevator on the floor I parked was out. Also I got threatened to leave out my room. The front desk called me stating that I need to pay or leave immediately. I had my reservation for 2 nights not one. That lady had an attitude when she was in the wrong. Then when the situation was fixed and I had left the hotel I could not get back to my room because I was locked out I went downstairs and waited 45 minutes for a new room key.

Elevator touch pad barely work, most uncomfortable bed that I ever slept in, was kept awake by whining air conditioner, was told they had no other room, building seemed to need maintenance, for $250 a night, I expected more

Exceptional

Location, breakfast and helpfulness of staff were all good. It has 18 floors plus a rooftop restaurant so very much a big city feeling. There is even a restaurant just near the lobby but closes at 7pm during the week so try to eat early. Was a bit of a challenge to recognize the entrance. The hotel name is not very obvious but the USPS is the same entrance and that is big and bright. Elevator took a bit of getting use to but just select floor and it will tell you which Elevator to use.

The front deck person didn’t communicate properly, didn’t explain about parking , about breakfast. The restaurant kitchen was closed at 7 pm . The breakfast was cold and not looking attractive at all . The carpet in my room was not clean and room was smelling bad

Confusing entrance and location. 2 hotels in one. No dislikes

It exceeded my expectations. I loved the fitness center. I wish I could have been their longer to enjoy the rooftop restaurant

The only concern is the noise that really bother my sleep

Located right downtown, near all Main restaurants Entrance of the building smelled like sewage. We were in town for a family vacation, rooms did not have any drawers to put our clothes in. Our 10yr old was also sad they didn’t have a smart tv as we normally like to sign into our Netflix account for him to watch his shows when we’re at the hotel. I asked for full room service on our third day. They did not change our sheets, did not vacuum our floors and did not leave fresh towels.
