AC was not working for 2 days. Staff not sure what to do --

Going in I thought the hotel was nice. When checking in it was late so when I wasn’t greeted or spoken to by the front desk I attributed it to that. However when the morning came I was awoken to a fire alarm at 7am and had to leave the room . After that whole ordeal I wanted breakfast. prepaid for breakfast when booking the room . I didn’t know they had to give me a paper to join as nothing was communicated the night prior any questions I asked they weren’t answered fully. The breakfast the most diabolical thing I have seen. At breakfast I was serviced with extremely dirty dishes and my orange juice glass had an intact lip stain mark on the glass. I noticed once I went to take a drink. I had to wait over 30min to be seated when someone finally came out they asked if I have been seated. I said no. And nothing was said was just led straight to a table no good morning or anything. When I saw everything I was dirty I got up and left. Asked for a refund for the breakfast and I got it without having to do the most. But I spent almost 700$ for a weekend getaway stay so I just assumed the employees could speak and everything would be clean. I expected more with the hotel with the wonderful reviews and was extremely disappointed. Will not book again.

Everything was excellent but why ask a traveler if they need anything and not supply or do your best to accommodate them. Reservations made last year...asked for front view and a microwave....received neither nor a call about microwave. Don't ask if not going to answer request

Excellent bed.

Rooms are very dusty had to take allergy meds due to sneezing so much in the room and the AC stunk like rotten eggs, the bathroom shower was really gross as well. Our room wasn’t ready even though we showed up an hour after check in and after a long drive and hoping to settle in that’s frustrating. We were given breakfast vouchers due to the inconvenience but the breakfast was just okay, wouldn’t have eaten there if we had to pay for it. Probably wouldn’t return here any time soon, we stayed for 2 nights and it was almost $500, not including valet that was another $94 pretty over priced for the lack of cleanliness and amenities. And not to mention paying for valet $40 a night just to park it right in front, and when none of them could even retrieve my car at check out cause no one could drive a manual. Not sure why I had to pay to park and retrieve my own car. We love Richmond and visit often, but it’s been hard to find a decent hotel that’s clean and doesn’t cost an arm and leg when literally NOTHING is included.

Great stay. Across the street from the convention center. Friendly and prompt valet. Delicious breakfast. I would stay here again.

Everything about our stay was pleasant except for the maintenance of the bathroom fixtures, which were clearly damaged before our arrival. This is something the staff should already have been aware of, given that the bathroom should have been cleaned before our stay.

We had a horrible experience. The only plus was being so close to Cafe Rutika. We had to wait to check-in due to housekeeping running behind, the staff was too busy with late check-ins for me to tell them about my issues in my room. Our bathroom door didn’t close, the headboard looked shredded, there were dirty lights and plumbing, a water stain on the ceiling, and the handle in the shower was loose. We’ll definitely stick with Marriot.

Although our stay was pleasant, we were disappointed to learn upon checking in at 5 PM that the room type we had booked several months in advance (a king suite) was no longer available.

Location is fabulous

Nothing in this filthy place with awful food and hidden fees everywhere. Shame on you!

Front desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff were so engaging and welcoming. Loved the food at the bar and the pool area, however, the pool water was freezing! Other than the pool temp, everything was perfect and we will be back!

Cons: Poor Services (no extra bedding for the sofa bed - my elderly mom was cold while sleeping during the first night; the safe is locked - not operational) Poor Maintenance (the bathroom had no proper ventilation; the bathroom door is jammed with extreme loud noise when opening it each time; water station is not operational in the gym) Poor Housekeeping (the duvet was soiled; there were fruit flys around the garbage cans in front of 6 floor elevated doors

Loved this hotel. Clean. Friendly staff. Great location!

No handicap parking unless you paid $46 a night and that was for valet. The AC is substandard. It is motion detected but takes forever to cool down after you reenter the room. The shower curtain was stained and the door was hard to close.

Location No stairs per staff. Room was on the other end of a U so had to walk 3 long halls to room. Fire trap
