Delta Hotels by Marriott Richmond Downtown

This was a strange property. Things didn't appear to be as advertised. For one, I thought this property had a view of the river, but it doesn't. The open design is attractive, but there is nothing to absorb the sound, and there was a group of excited students who were staying there who were very loud. The pool was not in bed shape but looked pretty old. The only steps to use to enter and exit the pool were built into the wall of the pool and thus vertical. I don't have the flexibility to use those, so they sent a maintenance person to figure it out how to operate the lift. They couldn't get it working during our stay. And the pool was one of the reasons I chose this property. We did use the whirlpool. It was functional but old and the tile work was messy and discolored. We had a meal at the restaurant and it wasn't bad, but again, not as it appeared in the pictures and only the bar portion was open. It was loud due the sound bouncing around from the students being there. I asked for my drink to be made less sweet but it was super sweet. I ordered a side of jimaca slaw, but I got cole slaw, and when I asked the server about it, he seemed to try to tell me there was jimaca in it, then he said they were probably out of it. I emailed the manager and didn't hear back. I contacted Hotels.com but they couldn't help. The front desk person did give us a $50 refund on our last day. Good location. The room itself was fine. I wouldn't stay there again.

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Room was nice, didn’t get to use any amenities because we only stayed one night for a concert. Very close to the Allianz amphitheater. My only complaint was I used the toilet in the room right when we got there and the flush wasn’t working, so my husband had to remove the top of the toilet and connect it to be able to flush.

There is no breakfast unless you pay? Everything

The staff was great! We used the shuttle to go to the Edgar Allan Poe Museum and when we were done they came and picked us up down the street at a local coffee shop. While waiting for our Lyft, they offered us waters. The only downside to this hotel is that the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors young kids being noisy. But the Sunday staff was super helpful!

The hotel is clean and well styled. The staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel was just okay. Very plain and nothing to write home about.

We came to celebrate my husbands birthday and our 1 month of being married and the staff upgraded us to a suite! Everyone was super nice and the room was extremely clean! We will return in the future!

I wish the lamps had usb connections for phone chargers

We wanted to live this place. The location was ok and it has a garage, which was a plus. The bathroom was not filthy but also not clean. The whole place looked like they just weren’t keeping up or investing in it. The indoor pool had paint peeling at the bottom. The hot tub looked in disrepair. The gym had mismatched weights. The carpet in the rooms looked stained. There were paint chips missing on the room door. On the other, Garry, the complimentary driver, was so lovely. The staff was friendly. But ultimately, I needed sleep and the HVAC would kick on and off every 10 minutes so we were hot and cold all night, sleeping on a super old squishy mattress. Slap lipstick on a pig. The lobby looks nice. Everything looks good in the pics but way too expensive for what we experienced. We so overpaid. Never again.

Convenient walk to Allianz Amphitheater, friendly and helpful staff, connected parking garage, and super clean.
