Hyatt Place Richmond/Arboretum

Breakfast was good.

Staff was rude, they called the cops to the lobby at 9:30 to kick everyone out. They were mad that people were drinking in common area and not buying from the makeshift bar they set up which had very limited options. I was not drinking and was just eating dinner with kids when they kicked us all out. Quite ridiculous.

I had stayed at Hyatt’s Place at time Square on New Year eve and the price served there was the BEST! The place was clean and the staff were VERY FRIENDLY.

Room had a very strong smell of chlorine. Not enough closet space, the bathrooms are very small.

Comfortable Stay

Hotel is located in a convenient location . Rooms are spacious and can comfortably fit 3 -4 guest. However, the property lacks some basic amenities like lotion and bath soap for convenience. Also, they charge for parking on their lot which adds up pretty quickly after weekend.

Hotel was full of teens who seemed to be greatly under supervised. Loud on the floor until 1 in the morning slamming doors. Asked staff to help with the noise and they said I just need to wait a hour and let people settle in or I could move my three sleeping toddlers at a1 am to another floor. Sofas are stained. Bathroom needed several repairs. Over all not happy with the stay.

My room wasn't clean. Crumbs on the floor near the bed (a big one, like a whole dropped bite from someone's food), the bed skirt was dirty, there was a pencil eyeliner shaving chunck near the closet door and some brown squishy dropping on the floor. I'm just glad I always bring my own sheets and towels to hotels because you never know what you're going to walk into! The staff were friendly this morning!

The location was convenient. The room bathroom shower rod wasn’t properly installed so the shower curtain wouldn’t stay expanded. There was a cracked mirror on the closet door. The pet and parking fee was unexpected. The reception and kitchen staff weren’t as friendly as you would expect.

The hotel was not clean and it was more like a motel. My family and I left a day early and I was not granted a refund.

What a great breakfast this place offers! Everything you could want and then some! It was pretty crowded on Saturday so I opted out but Monday was great! My room was nice, clean and big! I didn’t get a chance to use the pool but it did look refreshing and inviting…the elevator made a scary noise when I first arrived but never heard a peep again! I would stay again!
