Holiday Inn Express Richmond - Midlothian Turnpike by IHG

The property is in need of a refresh, in my opinion. The walls of the hallway where I stayed appeared to have been gouged out by what I assume were the edges of housekeeping carts. This greatly detracted from the appearance of the hotel. There were a number of vending machines just off of the lobby for visitors who needed to grab a quick snack. There were also what I believe were complimentary coffee brewing machines in the lobby itself. I do not recall seeing any water fountains. The complimentary breakfast buffet was quite nice. This hotel has a courtyard with a small sitting area as well as a pool. I believe the pool was closed for the season when I visited. The staff was friendly enough, but the woman who checked me in was very soft-spoken to the point where it was hard to hear her or even, at points, to be certain she was addressing me.

I believe it was rated at 4 stars. Not a 4 star hotel. They are in the middle of renovations but I can’t believe what shape the hotel was in. Scrapes all over the halls and doors. Floors weren’t well vacuumed. Bed was okay. One thing that got me mad was the reno equipment was put in the handicap parking spots. Breakfast was good.

They need to ensure greater cleanliness and better control over those who smoke inside.

As frequent travelers who often choose Holiday Inn Express for work trips, we found this stay disappointing. While we understand the hotel is currently undergoing much-needed renovations, the condition of our room did not reflect the price we paid. The facilities felt worn out, and even the breakfast pancake machine was broken. Had we been aware of these issues, we would have booked elsewhere. That said, I want to clarify that the room itself was clean and the staff were friendly, but overall, the experience fell short of the standard we expect from this brand.

Checking in was great the lady who checked us in was very nice kind and helpful. The hotel is under renovations so a lot of the amenities weren’t available like the pool (which was a bummer because it’s summer ) none of these were tons prior to booking or I would have gone somewhere else honestly. The times in the room were worn and or broken . We asked for a late check out they allowed us until 12. The house keeper kept coming by knocking on the door and proceeded to argue my check out time. The beds weren’t that comfortable and the tvs barely worked. Over all it was disappointing for a holiday inn

I liked the continental breakfast and all the shopping stores and restaurants near by. I also liked having a pool even though I didn’t get to use it. I didn’t like not getting a non-smoking room when I requested one and also was paying for it. Instead I was given a room with stale cigarette smoke in the room. Carpet was filthy in and outside the room including hallways.

It is pretty convenient for this location because I could easily get around wherever I could. I just could've gotten the other hotel closer to the mall, but I can get. around just fine.

The staff was friendly and helpful So we told your front staff that the air conditioner was leaking in the room and it was discovered after one night of a 3 night stay and they offered to me to change rooms and didn't want after we'd had unpacked everything and was looking for a refund of 50 to 100 off the bill
