We love everything about this hotel.

My stay at the Jeffers Hotel was wonderful. The staff were extremely helpful, cordial, and welcoming. The premises were kept pristine, and my room was very comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The restaurant also offered very good food. Overall, I had an excellent experience and would happily stay at the Jeffers Hotel again.

Love the Jefferson. Go there every year.

Really enjoyed our weekend at the Jefferson leaving the hotel only once. Got massages, a pedicure, swam and relaxed in the salt water pool and outdoor deck and ate all our meals at their Lemaire restaurant. The hotel is beautiful with quite a history. Our room was very spacious with spacious bathroom as well. The staff were uniformly so pleasant and helpful. There is outdoor parking lot right next to the hotel (valet or self) for a fee. Highly recommend for an upscale hotel experience.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very attentive and friendly. We had wonderful breakfasts delivered to our room each morning. Valet parking service was excellent. The shuttle service was also excellent.

The Jefferson Hotel is one of a vanishing breed of grand historic hotels that still provide the kind of hotel experience that was already becoming rare 50 years ago. The staff are friendly and attentive, the rooms are extremely well appointed, the public spaces of the hotel are spectacular, and the restaurant is one of the best in Richmond. The hotel's only real drawback isn't its fault: the area of downtown Richmond that the Jefferson used to anchor has seriously deteriorated. Even though an effort was clearly made to try to revive Broad Street near the hotel, it's still pretty sketchy. As a result, there isn't really much of interest close to the hotel other than VCU and the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art. That means that going out from the hotel -- to find other restaurants, see the sights, or hit the usual tourist destinations -- pretty much requires a car.

A very enjoyable experience!

The Jefferson is five stars all around! Yes it’s beautiful and historic with excellent amenities in a fantastic location. But what sets it apart are the people. From valet, bellmen, front desk, concierge, cleaning staff, spa/salon, and restaurant, the service was impeccable. We’ve stayed at some fantastic properties around the world and the Jefferson’s staff are second to none…highly recommend!

Very comfortable room. Parking is easy. They should have a few tables dedicated for the Sunday buffet for customers who stayed the weekend. They should also have the ability for customers who might want a coke late at night to purchase from front desk or a self serve alcove. Front desk attendant acted like we were from Mars when asking where we could get a bottle of coke. Also acted a little bewildered (and snooty) when we then asked if there was a vending machine anywhere. Tired of being treated like that when we pay luxury prices to stay.

We are from NYC and stop at The Jefferson every year on our annual pilgrimage to the beach in SC. How lucky we are that The Jefferson is the midway point. The expansive spaces and smiling faces are exactly what weary travelers need after a nine hour drive! The Jefferson truly is exceptional.

Our biggest issue was the overall cleanliness of the property. Many areas are in need of dusting- we watched a guy write a “note” in the dust on a piece of furniture in the dining area. As we were enjoying breakfast in the room, I noticed the areas behind the nightstand were filthy. Also, the bathroom chandelier was dirty. Attention to details are what we have come to except from The Jefferson. Another example was the broken hair dryer- yes, it worked but the button on the cord was missing. Also, turn down service was lacking compared to what it used to be. Both nights were different and nothing special - I’m a sucker for good turn down service and it just didn’t seem on par with other properties. Overall, the room is still lovely and the staff were nice, but I would question whether we should try another hotel next time. Hoping this was an off-season fluke and things get back on track soon.

Wonderful facility. Awesome experience.

The food items are disappointing at bar and restaurant. Need to be more mainstream. Have stayed multiple times and will continue to stay but will dine off property

Beautiful property and great customer service
-
Ceiling air conditioner directed constant stream of cool to cold air directly onto bed making one side nearly useless. Bedding arrangement of single duvet made it impossible to balance protection against the gale from the ceiling. Front desk did discount us for the inconvenience, but the situation needs to be addressed in my opinion. Otherwise stay was great.
