Helpful staff room service wasn’t operating
-
Close to downtown
-
It was great.. I am staying again today on 7/30

I did not like the way that the front desk staff operated . My key card was not working and I went to the front desk and told them about it and had to wait until after one hour with a six month old child who was hungry and tired , can’t find the override key to open the door . Thing should be in a box or somewhere where it can be easily accessible . I do hope that someone will address this problem

Everything was excellent from Valet (Ras) at arrival to checkout. Clean, quiet & cool. Very restful. Highly recommend.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable! The staff was very helpful. There is valet parking, but there other options such as city lots or street parking.

Unfortunately didn't get pictures of the room itself, but the decor was so on point. A line drawing of Arthur Ashe, a big framed round mirror hanging by rope, a retro rotary phone on the desk. The colors were moody academia with a little nautical vibe. Lots of task lighting around the room with no harsh overhead added to the great vibe. TV, mini fridge, desk, couple chairs. Little fun touches in the bathroom (check out the accessory bags under the sink). Only negative thing I can say is the water pressure was a little low for my liking, but I can't even knock them for it bc it's so on brand for dorm showers 😂. The room keys were student IDs of old school celebs. The students working the front desk were great. We didn't get a chance to try brekkie either day, but it runs late til 11am- another nod at college life. The rooftop bar was a real treat. The view was amazing, and you could really get to see all 360 between the 2 spaces. They were hosting a private party for a wedding in one and saw in passing they had jello shots- yet another great touch for the concept. The cocktails were refined without being overly fussy. The Espresso Martinis from the downstairs bar were fantasticly solid- enough to have several (coming from lifelong bartenders, this is high praise.) The bartender was amazing, sweet, helpful, and funny. Valet only parking on premises for $31/nigunless you snag a streetside spot nearby.

I didn't want to complain, since I didn't want to clearer to lose her job. I think she just needed a break.

The AC unit in our room was squilling so bad the first night we couldn't sleep. We had maintenance come and take a look the next morning and they said it was fixed but it went right back to sounding like it did before. Hard to sleep when the AC unit sounds like it is torturing a rat.

We rented the room for the rooftop pool. Upon arriving we found out there was no pool. It was not their fault but it rained the whole time we stayed so the rooftop bar was closed. We would have saved money and rented elsewhere with a pool had we known.

Staff was very nice and property in the main areas was well maintained. Housekeeping staff was not clean. Every morning it was like a maze walking through the hallways with dirty laundry everywhere on the floors and bags of trash along the walls. Never seen laundry all over the floors like that. Usually they are put into rolling carts. Asked for service one day of our 4 day trip and came back at 330 and nothing had been touched. Called to at least get towels and they brought bath towels only. No wash cloths or hand towels. Also the day I was free to hang out on the rooftop deck it was closed for the day. It's a nice place. Most of my frustration was with housekeeping.
