We had no water for our first day and we’re not offered any compensation

My Wife and I booked this hotel because our 6 year old loves the color pink. We cannot say enough good things about this hotel, from it's location, to the Staff at every level from the front desk to the bartenders and kitchen staff. They were AMAZING and handled any issues with grace and initiative. Our daughter loves the piano and the art gallery, but also playing hopscotch in the courtyard. Also Super Mario with the Valet service is pretty awesome! This hotel is in a great location, and we would have done more local exploring in the vicinity of the hotel itself, had it not been for the extreme heat. 10/10 we will come back and stay with them again, especially for the giant pink Christmas tree in December that Kiddo is now obsessed with!

The hotel is beautiful and has a fun vibe. Unfortunately, the rooftop bar was closed when we arrived at 8pm on Sunday. We were only staying that night, so I was a bit disappointed. The restaurant was delicious, however a bit confusing on where to order. They need to be more organized for valet parking. Overall, I would stay again simply because the staff is so friendly and helpful. The beds were very comfortable. Great location.

This is such a beautiful boutique-type hotel in a well appointed building that used to be a luxury department store. Lots of cool design elements and high ceilings in bedrooms. Bed/room/bathroom all very comfortable. Hotel could use some updates and maintenance in areas. Amazing rooftop bar. I will definitely stay again!

The Hotel was fine. The check in was somewhat difficult in that the car is actually on a busy street and getting the luggage from the car to the hotel was difficult.

Two noteworthy things. 1- Room 404 you can't control the thermostat and it stays 68 degrees at all times until it clicks off and the noise it makes will startle you. We should have said something sooner but we dealt with it. 2-Our last morning I was awakened to the 2 over the bed lights falling off the wall in it missed my head by inches. The front desk staff offered to move us but we were leaving later the same day, so we declined. The gentleman said he was going to have his manager contact me to see what sort of compensation they could offer. I have now emailed the hotel and have yet to hear back, even acknowledging my email. Not a good look. Perhaps they don't care since it wasn't booked directly and that has often crossed my mind. If you choose to stay at Quirk, I would suggest making sure the wall lights are secure before heading to bed. I will add pictures as well.

The Quirk is adorable and comfortable. I wish it was walkable to Carytown

Quirky art, nice central lobby/dining area combined

The room was clean at first glance, but there was a dust build-up on the headboard, no mattress cover on the mattress (just a sheet), and dead bugs in the overhead light. The coffee maker had dust in it, the room phone did not work and was covered in a layer of crust, and every light fixture (our room and the lobby) had cobwebs. The building itself seemed to be struggling. The card reader in the elevator was visibly hot-glued to the wall, the toilets in the lobby bathroom were falling off the wall, and there were paint splatters on every surface. During our stay, the hotel turned the water off for about 30 minutes for maintenance (no big deal, but we only found out what was happening when I called the front desk). Cute concept, but for the price point, I would have expected a lot more.

Just a lovely experience

This is one of the best hotels I have ever visited!

Staff was super friendly. Good location - close to just about everything in Richmond. Valet process was quick & easy. Clean & cute hotel. Water pressure in shower was low.

Loved this hotel!! Husband said this was one of his favorite places we have stayed. Historic building in historic Richmond. If I had to say one little thing that could be improved it would be water pressure but that didn’t take away from the stay. Hotel was lovely!

The room was nice and clean and everyone was so friendly . If in Richmond , I will stay again for sure .

The Quirk offered a lively and colorful stay! Looking forward to the next time.

The hotel was great. But when I checked in they charged me the full room fee even though I had already paid on Hotels.com. They reversed it. Then at 2am they charged the fee again. Luckily I had blocked my credit card due to the other charges. Each time multiple staff members and the managers had no visibility into what I was being charged for or any explanation.

Valet service is not 24/7. Can make do. Bathroom experience poor! Wash basin taps mostly sprayed outside. Poor poor water pressure and awful shower! Water leaked out shower area and made a mess in the bathroom. Hot summer, but room would not cool sufficiently. Thermostat set to 68F, but never got below 74F! Had to request fan for room. Asked for microwave, but never delivered. Overall, for cost paid the experience left much to be desired.
