The room was very clean and comfortable, except that there was no body wash in the shower and there were only two bath towels in the room. The staff was fast to respond when I reported the issue and responded with extra towels and body wash. The breakfast was hot and fresh, but wish they had other options for milk other than just 2% as some people cannot have regular milk. The air conditioning was not great, it was either too hot or too cold in the room, and the rest of the building was hot due to the construction on the different floors. The guest laundry room was dirty, and only washer worked and was falling apart and was filthy. There were wires hanging out of the ceiling on the 3rd floor due to new wiring being put in and that is where the laundry was. The only working ice machine was on the 5th floor, but there was no signage or notice to let you know this until you went to each floor looking for ice. The pool was out of service, the dining room was hot and loud during breakfast due to construction. The elevator was extremely hot and smelled. I paid over $500 for my stay and had to listen to neighbors in the room next door being very loud until after 1AM which kept me from sleeping on more than one night even after I reported it to the desk. If I had not needed to be so close to VCU hospital, I would have gone to a Motel 6 for a better stay. Not a good impression for a family member of a Wyndham owner.

Room nice and cool during stay. A bit worn, but clean. Plastic cover over smoke detector. We removed during our stay.
-
Convenient location but the hotel is really worn down!
-
Water damage, ice machines broken but convenient to mall.

Always sleep great here

my last evening there my room was not cleaned

The hotel has some renovations going on. This did not affect my stay. The room was nice and clean as well as the bathroom. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was standard for hotels like this but we were not expecting more, and it was all served with care to keeping items the proper temperature (some hot items like eggs and sausage, baked goods, yoghurt, etc). The coffee was good. A wider variety of fruit would be nice. The hotel's lobby was being renovated when we were there, so it was a little awkward to come in through a side door and then have the closed off lobby across from the breakfast area, but those things happen (good the hotel was keeping up with renovations). After driving for several hours, we were ready for a walk when we got there. Surprisingly, the hotel was set in an area where we could actually walk around a residential (apartments) and commercial area with some ease (sidewalks, not too bust back streets off main roads). That was a small plus for us.

The hotel is not terrible, but the experiance had to be one of the worst ever. First off, after checking in I get my notification from my bank on the charge. The amount I was charged and the amount on my receipt was 2 different amounts. After going down stairs they informed me that the extra money was the security deposit. I said that was fine, but there is not a single piece of verbage on this paper saying how much the security charge was going to be. I am fine with paying one, but you must inform the card holder of the amount of a charge. Secondly they were in the middle of a lobby construction project and data cable install. The lobby/breakfast area was 80 degrees. The 3rd floor was the only laundry. The guys running the cables left cables all over the place in a partially dark half way and me and my child tripped on them multiple times. Lastly, my 4 year old development a rash on half his body after being in the pool. I asked the front desk staff for copies of the pool chemical record and have yet to get them. Asked the front desk staff for a phone or email for the manager and was given a wrong email address of the “acting” manager. 4 days later I did recieve my security deposit back which they incorrectly did. They refunded the original room rate/security original charge, and then re charged my card 4 days later for the non security deposit amount. After multiple calls and a fake email address, this is the review they get. My 4 year old had to see a doctor for the rash.

Many of the ice machines were also broken, so people meandered around with their buckets searching for ones that worked. Breakfast was nothing special. Scrambled eggs, waffles you can make yourself and put some syrup on, cereal, the tiniest yogurt I’ve ever seen, bread, bagels with no cream cheese, juice, coffee, and greasy sausages. The maid came to the door before 9 on Sunday morning, luckily we had the lock on so she couldn’t come in and wake my grandson. I feel we could have saved money and gone to a cheaper hotel for the same quality, so we were disappointed. The ads make it look wonderful, but it’s not all that. When the maid did come to the room we were told she only had 1 rag and 1 roll of tp and couldn’t get more because it was time for her to leave. Front desk staff were usually in a chair at the back texting, so we had to wait for them to finish their conversation. Won’t stay here again.

Mid July 2026 stay. The lobby was under construction, so there was a little inconvenience there, but nothing major. The ladies setting up breakfast and cleaning that area were really good and nice. There was food all over the 4th floor halls. The air conditioning did not seem to be working correctly in the hotel general areas. It was quite warm and they had a fan blowing in the breakfast area. Our room was just run down. Water damage on the bathroom ceiling where the repair kept flaking off all over the floor. One of the elevators not working. Only one ice machine working. The hotel is in a great location, but seems like time is taking it's toll on it. More updating needed.

Clean, spacious rooms. Great breakfast. My only quibble is that I’ve visited this hotel twice, six years apart, and on each visit they had huge industrial fans set up in the lobby to dry out a flood. The noise made it difficult to carry out a conversation at the reception desk and it did carry through to the breakfast area too.

There was no cable service , so no TV. I should have been informed. I had to find alternative arrangements at the last minute which were more expensive.

Definitely call before booking here! When I arrived, there were fans blowing everywhere from a recent water leak, and electrical wiring hanging out of everywhere. Truly everywhere. My backpack got caught in some in the hallway walking to my room. My room had wires hanging out everywhere and construction dust all over the floor. There was nothing online indicating that the hotel was in this condition or discount offered. I was going to suck it up and do my work for the evening, when extremely loud drilling began in the room next to me. 11/10, truly painfully loud. Even if I had headphones and earplugs it still would have been way to loud to have gotten any work done. I checked in at 3pm and left at 5pm and just drove the couple of hours home. The staff said no refunds would be offered. The crew working on the wiring were surprised that they put a customer on the floor where they were working, much less the room right next to them drilling. This is literally the first negative review I've ever written, but please save your money and go to another similarly priced hotel nearby. I flushed $170 down the drain booking here.

Quiet area. The room was clean and the shower pressure was really good. The breakfast was okay. The AC was okay. It was right up next to the bed so the airflow was blocked.
-
Was not aware the hotel was having work down and being rewired prior to booking as I would have chosen to go elsewhere. The internet was so weak that my laptop would not stay connected. The TV lost service and kept showing as channels not available.
-
Water leak, large noisy air machines going 24/7. Room a/c noisy. However, room was large, mattress and pillows great.
-
Lady at front desk was wonderful. After driving all day and to meeting a pleasant, helpful person first makes my day. The lady at breakfast was also friendly and helpful. The room however someone forgot to run the sweeper?? We have stayed here often and the staff makes this motel the place to say.

The water damage to the lobby was noisy and caused it to be about 85 degrees in the halls and breakfast area. Breakfast was fine and plentiful but man just do sausage links and patties dont bother making the sausage gravy anymore. Room was very nice and clean and beds were really good but they need a remodel for the hallways and please god fix the AC in the hallways
