Staybridge Suites Rochester - Mayo Clinic Area by IHG

The good: Staff was really nice and kind. Rooms were spotless, and hotel seems brand new. Rooms were really well equipped, kitchen had everything, lots of storage place and nice spacious bathrooms. Hotel had comolimentary breakfast with hot dishes (eggs, bacon, mini waffles). It seemed like a great place to spend longer time. It was also nice not to be near Mayo clinic as there is ton of construction around, so this area was more peaceful, yet still very close. Neighbourhood seemed really nice, private homes around. The bad: Rooms seemed bright and sunny on the pictures, ours was on the second floor with giant window AC unit taking all the window space and the room was really small, cramped (you have to walk around furniture) and dark. Now, it was OK, but it felt like false advertising - for our room. Arriving late and having to search for parking was not ideal, but we got lucky with parking a street over. But the hardest part for me was that windows don't open. At all. This bothered me a lot, as the room air felt very stale. The hallway had food smells on occasion, so keeping the front door open was not a solution. If they have rooms with windows that open, I would definetly stay here again.

Everything was great except for my room smelled like cigarettes mixed with this strong spray that tried to cover it up. I hated how it smelled, if it hadn’t smelled like that I wouldve loved it

Great room, close to St. Mary’s. Very clean& up to date. Easy parking& access to parking from rooms.

Awful experience. Our room was changed without notice.. our room was literally along a flood light - I have several pictures. Our bedroom room didn’t shut, literally the bed blocked it. When I went into the courtyard to address the light situation two separate employees completely ignored my concerns the light shined directly into my window, even with having the blackout lights all of the rooms and windows in that entire square of a courtyard it was only my room that it shined into because it was the corner room absolutely awful experience. I didn’t sleep. I was there for a postop appointment for a kidney removal from kidney cancer after a 6 Hour Dr. all I wanted to do was go to sleep and I was not able to had to wake up early in the morning was not able to get any sleep turn around and do a day full of appointments at Mayo to turn around and drive six hours home absolutely unprofessional uncalled for an awful customer service… and I am not one to complain so for me to have to say this says a lot

Great place to stay

Absolutely perfect hotel, especially if you are traveling back and forth to St. Mary’s campus for Mayo. Great breakfast, free laundry, great shower, comfy bed. Best you could get in these circumstances away from home. Thank you!

Wonderful room with a great kitchenette. Location was perfect. Breakfast was just okay

The manager corrected the mistake that was made at the front desk when I first arrived. The first person to check me in gave me the wrong room and was unwilling to change it, blaming Expedia. However, the manager became involved and resolved the issue, so we packed up and moved to the room we originally reserved.
