The Hastings Inn Salina

It was so filthy and a real dive. It was so bad I didn't even check in. Had windows broken people clothes hanging out . People who ran the place didn't even meet me when I got there . You couldn't find the front door. To check in. Looked Like summer ville. I got out look around got back in my car and left. I have never seen such a mess. Looked like a homeless camp. I didnt feel safe to stay. Not a single thing. It was the worst place to stay at for a single woman. Not a safe place. It shouldn't even be put up as a hotel for anyone to stay in. Absolutely would never recommend it for my worst enemy.. It was filthy, gross ... not even worth the money. I lost what I paid for reserving it. But my safety was worth more then what I lost..

Excellent staff, accommodating and friendly

The room itself wasn’t bad. The owner or front office was very friendly while checking in. Room was supposed to be non smoking but people were smoking outside and the smoke filled the room due to the ac unit. Being an asthmatic didn’t help. Also tv didn’t work.

Was told there was breakfast from 6-9am. The lobby from 5am-11am was empty no workers and no one ever set up breakfast.

Check in was super easy. Made sure I was in a downstairs room so I could see my bike. Super friendly staff. Recommended me to an amazing burger joint. I was exhausted from a long day of riding. Took a nice shower and passed out in bed. Slept great. AC was nice and cold. Checkout was a breeze.

The man who runs it, or manager was super sweet. I wanted to park in front of my room, but a car with a missing window and door handle was in front of my room. I don't even know if the car works. The vehicle next to it was a filled with junk, like someone living in their car. There were interesting people outside the room, sitting at all hours. My curtains wouldn't close all the way. No toiletries given, not even a bar of soap to wash my hands. A bucket of bleach water to wipe the walls would really help. Doors slamming at all hours woke me up. It served its purpose as a place to rest while having a busy weekend and it close to downtown. Place just needs a deep clean. I can tell that back in the day that it was a gem and it used to have a pool. The road its on has many budget motels that seem to have shady guests. I hope the new management can help clean the place up. Again, the hospitality of staff is amazing, place just needs a deep clean. Expect people to be outside smoking and staring at you when you come and go, especially later in the day. On an extreme budget fo ra last minute event, it was what I could afford.

Friendly and helpful No ice machine

The owner said his computers and Expedia do not communicate. Therefore we weren’t able to check in. They didn’t have any rooms available. Expedia should drop this hotel.

This place is under new ownership and is being renovated. In a few weeks it will be finished.

I'm super impressed. This old motel is badly worn and has certainly seen better days. However, it is clean and comfortable. It was also cheap. The owner / manager was transparent about the condition and is getting ready for renovations. I can't wait to see what he does!

New owners are working really hard to recover a space that’s gotten pretty run down. They were incredibly helpful when we needed anything. Felt like good things are ahead for this property

The lady was nice. There was bugs in toilet and bed. We left and couldn't even get refund. The outside was not good at all. We got it online so didn't know what it was like til got there . Would not recommend at all

This was a great location for the things we had to do. The place was a dump and the online pictures were much nicer than the rooms actually were.

I had not good information upon which to choose. I chose on price, assuming the facilities would be basic but adequate. There was WiFi and AC, although the AC was too noisy for me to leave on at night. There were many rooms and few patrons. The motel was quiet. The fellow I was in town to visit was embarrassed for me when he learned where I had book. It is apparently in a part of town which has trouble and drugs. I did not see any of that. Yes, the facilities were old, but were clean and seemd quiet so I thought value for money. I was not smart enough to work out how to use the shower (which was over the bath). The bath had no plug. I mentioned this to the manager as I checked out and he said 'No baths had plugs' and there was something you had to do with the spout to redirect the water to the shower. I am too old to be trying to sit in a bath.
