Terrible experience would like a callback.

Solid place to stay in San Diego.

The property is slightly dated but well maintained, the wear & tear within the room was normal and overall everything functioned.

I love the Alma hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed, very modern and the Latino influenced decor was very appealing. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and I will definitely be back. The reason it got four stars instead of five had nothing to do with the hotel itself, the lost star unfortunately was due to something completely outside of their control. There were “fentanyl monsters” on every corner. While dining in the cafe they put on quite a show outside through the windows. Again, out of the hotel’s control but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention it. I will say though, the property is completely safe in spite of the drug addled outside. Key cards are required everywhere inside the hotel and they have a doorman assigned at the front that has to let you in. Don’t let this deter you from the hotel because it is wonderful.

Good location and great views

We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The staff was welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was super comfortable and clean. Being able to have breakfast there before leaving was truelly time saving. We loved our stay .

Gender neutral bathrooms in the upstairs lobby. The hotel front lobby and elevator area could use a good cleaning.
-
Furniture was dusty, powder was found on the counters, restroom shower handle had a crack that seemed it was attempted to be repaired.
-
Good attentive staff. Clean room. Good location.

Great place. Great vibe!

Bathroom flooded overnight while we slept. Hotel room big but not enough surfaces to put things on. No door on the shower. Paid everything including taxes upfront. Checked in and had to put down for a much higher than usual deposit. Ok , but then upon checkout I was told there were extra amenities charges?!

The inside of the property was great as well as the rooms The valet parking was difficult and not the most ideal. Also there were a large portion of homeless groups hanging around on the corners of the streets which made it feel unsafe

The check in process was super straight forward informative and really easy. All the staff I interacted with were very nice. I had a balcony suite and it was a very spacious and clean room. Everything was well kept and very modern. Only 1 thing I had an issue with, which in all fairness has absolutely nothing to do with the hotel. In the immediate surrounding area outside the front doors there are a lot of homeless back in forth and no joke one was literally swinging an axe at a light pole. I'm dead serious. Off property so no bad thing about the hotel more just to let anyone know that the surrounding area, while not a bad looking area at all, definitely has some questionable characters roaming around. Overall I would come back as the hotel was very nice.

Never ended up staying since they told me upon arrival they couldn’t guarantee check in at 4 (when check in is supposed to be and what you pay for). The reasoning was that they were fully booked the night before so rooms were still being cleaned. Never have I ever had a hotel tell me I couldn’t check in because they were fully booked the night before. They also didn’t know when the room would be ready, offered no apology for the inconvenience, and the manager canceled my reservation because I was upset about all of this. Absolutely absurd and not how a hospitality business should be ran.
