Awesome hotel in Downtown San Diego!
-
Great location. Beautifully designed. Rooms were spacious, comfortable and beautiful. Excellent service from checkin to check out. We would definitely revisit.

Rooms have a lot of character. Clean amenities. I loved the coffee bars on each level! Such a nice touch

Our room smelled unpleasant from check-in, the AC was almost impossible to control, and between constant street noise and hotel activity, getting a good night’s sleep was impossible. After finally falling asleep, we were awakened at 7:00 a.m. by a call asking us to retrieve a car that wasn’t even ours. The breaking point? My daughter was served spoiled milk, and my coffee was made with that same spoiled milk. That’s not a service issue—it’s a food safety issue. Leslie at the front desk showed no empathy, no apology, and no ownership. I was told the manager was Daryus Small, but instead I dealt with Tom Juhnevics. Rather than reviewing the facts or even checking the security cameras after I specifically asked him to, he immediately defended his staff and his only solution was: refund the unused last night if I checked out immediately. Tom’s hospitality experience seems rooted in management, not the guest experience. Had this happened to him and his family, I doubt he would have found his own response acceptable. That’s the difference between running a hotel and delivering true hospitality. Tom later acknowledged in writing that the hotel failed in its response, but by then left downtown location is fine, but expect street noise and a visible homeless presence. That’s downtown—not the hotel’s fault. Beautiful building. Failed hospitality. DONTSTAY

I was stuck next door to a couple having a domestic violence situation. The hotel was aware and let them stay and I found out only after they were aware and didn't care about my safety.

A really nice hotel and very comfortable. My one recommended area of improvement / elevated care would be for the shared amenity closet on my floor (2nd floor) could have been better maintained. One day there were no clean coffee cups, another day no water. Snack dispensers were also broken or dirty (skittles one seemed to have gotten moisture in it so the candies were melted / dispenser jammed). Thanks for a great stay otherwise!! Staff were really helpful and room was clean comfortable and quiet.

Beautiful clean hotel. Traveled with husband and two kids. We stayed in the double beds and room size was fine. Only thing we needed was a little counter space or small table for putting things on.

Lots to recommend. If you're looking for a pool and a tourist trap, keep looking. This hotel is a throwback to a time of civility, elegance and grandeur. Carry on.
-
Hotel was really nice, the only thing it does have a partícular smell but over all it’s nice.

The hotel has no parking. For extra cost you can park nearby at other parking structures/lots and walk to the hotel. Area around the hotel is not well lite with a lot of cockroaches, etc.. Room was a bit pricy and room was too small.
-
Conveniently located in the Gaslamp Quarter. If you need to park your car try the 225 Broadway Circle parking structure, reasonable price, secured and very close to the hotel.

Overall, a decent stay. Nothing special. We visited over the Fourth of July weekend, so we paid an astronomical rate, and for the price, I don’t feel the hotel quite lived up to expectations. That said, the rooms were clean, the lobby was tastefully decorated, and the breakfast was delicious. The staff were also very accommodating and promptly moved us to a new room after our original room was kept awake by a dog barking relentlessly throughout the night. My only other downside was the surrounding area, which felt a bit sketchy after dark. Overall, it’s a solid hotel, but I’d be more inclined to stay again at a way lower price point.

Very small rooms…. Always an unpleasant smell when I accessed my room. Staff helpful and polite.
