Very good place to stay. Staff were friendly.

Aveda products in the bathroom are a nice touch. Towels were thick. Staff was very welcoming, assisted with luggage (stairs and storage), and accommodated an unplanned dinner at Witherby (highly recommended!). The location is ideal for navigating the Gaslamp district, and also reasonably walkable to the Bay, select shops and attractions, and multiple bars and restaurants.

Super friendly staff, great location and restaurant. Very comfortable beds The AC required the curtain to be slightly open. There’s no elevator but staff helps you carry things up and down.

Very helpful staff especially Jovannie who helped me carry my suitcases 3 flights of stairs! He also helped fix the TV wifi and helped troubleshoot the aircon system. 5 stars well done!

Nice hotel but wouldn’t stay again. No phones in the room to call front desk, no iron or refrigerator in room. I did enjoy the aesthetic of the building. No elevator and was on third floor but front desk helped bring bags up.

Bar and restaurant Room was tiny. No drawers just a thin console table. No lift. No safe in the room. Air con was a unit through the window which was noisy. Never had ear plugs given in a hotel which tells you about the noise.

they have a good food , nice staff , clean room . is just excellent. I just wish they have fridge to have my cold drink but other than that so excellent.

Immaculate clean It was a very noisy hotel we where woken up by the shower nightly in the adjacent room our room was 223

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was so refreshing to stay at a hotel with old world charm and not just the basic cookie cutter hotel. I didn't get a chance to use the restaurant/bar, but it looked nice. Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Free Starbucks coffee on every floor. And the hotel is situated right in the middle of everything. Just a heads up: that old world charm really means old world lol. That means there is no elevator and the bathrooms are on the smaller side. But the staff is more than happy to assist you with your luggage. I would definitely stay here again.

The property had a very favorable, stylish design to it. The second floor had a coffee station plus wonderful outside sitting area. The restaurant and bar offered excellent food and drinks. The staff were both friendly and helpful! There was a happy hour menu for both drinks and food if desired. Breakfast was also served at menu prices. The overall value and experience was excellent!

When I showed up at 3:30 (for a 3PM check-in), I was given a key to a room. When I went to the room, there was a maintenance person saying that the room would be ready in 30 minutes. I had to go down to the lobby and get moved to the room next door. Issue #2: The hotel was incredibly loud due to a wedding reception in the restaurant below. In fact, it was so loud I had to leave the hotel and go for a walk due to the sound and vibration in my room. Issue #3: I also got charged $12 for a damaged towel which they said was due to discoloration. The only way that towel could have been discolored was from something on the floor of the hotel room or their cleaning process. Needless to say, I will never stay there again. And I recommend to anyone else to avoid this hotel.

Beautiful historic hotel and restaurant/bar in a great location, but without an elevator or direct access to parking and a little noisy from the surrounding area.

Everything in the hotel was fabulous. The only thing is we were in the front of the building and the noise from the partiers at night was very loud. I'm a deep sleeper so it didn't bother me. But if you stay there, request an inner room or a room in the back of the hotel

During our stay in early September, extremely loud street noise continued well past 4:30 a.m. We had an early flight and got less than two hours of sleep. I understand a downtown hotel cannot control street noise. However, the hotel clearly knows it can be significant, the room was stocked with earplugs, yet we received no warning when booking or checking in. Had we known, we could have requested a quieter room, especially since I was traveling with my elderly father. What made matters worse was management’s response. It took more than a week, two emails, and three phone calls to receive a reply. Francisco acknowledged my email had been overlooked because he was busy, apologized, but offered no adjustment or meaningful service recovery. I wasn’t expecting a full refund, but I did expect accountability and a reasonable gesture. Instead, after paying $279 for a night with almost no sleep, the only resolution was an invitation to stay again and request a quieter room next time. The hotel itself is nice and the other staff were professional, but based on the stay and management’s handling of my concerns, I would not return and would recommend travelers consider other accommodations.
