Room was clean but a little warm when I checked in. The tv was set to Spanish language for the menus but was able to watch shows. The water pressure was minimal but the shower was clean.

It was a very clean hotel room. The staff were friendly. Really, my only complaint was that it was hot and the air conditioner wasn't the greatest in our room and we slept with the no blankets because it was too hot. The air conditioner worked it just wasn't placed right and not really big enough for the space

No elevator and creaky bed. AC was the portable type and was a bit loud. I had to leave it on while out in order for the room temperature to be comfortable. No fitness center. Parking was $42.00/day and is around the corner. (Gated with security if that matters) There was no desk or chair to work from unfortunately. Water pressure in the shower was low.

Double room with 2 double beds rather small, portable noisy AC by the bed. Bathroom small. Very noisy street, lots of drunk and homeless people around the hotel. Parking round the corner from the hotel, $42 a night.

Great boutique hotel. Room is small but quaint. Convenient location.
-
Decent location with appreciable walkability towards coffee shops and restaurants. Very accommodative and welcoming staff. Property was very well-maintained, very clean, and had exceptional vintage architecture and layout given 19th century establishment. Hallways were warm and cozy. VIP perks including complimentary sparkling wine and in-house restaurant meal credits were enjoyed as well.

Good downtown location. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Do not stay here when it’s hot out. The AC units provided in the rooms do not cool the room at all. I understand the building is old so central air is not an option but the AC unit needs to be bigger. The room is clean, the staff is nice but the owner needs to either upgrade AC units or make more fans available. There were no standing fans left in to borrow. Also request a room on the inside, the bars and traffic are loud until about midnight, which wouldn’t be bad if you weren’t opening the windows to try to cool off. Probably fine in non summer months.

Great stay, in a busy area but that means everything is walking distance! I know people complained about the noise but we had no problem with it, we slept the whole night. The A/C kicked in as soon as we turned it on. Super friendly staff and clean place. The only thing is there is no elevator so may not be friendly for people who cannot climb stairs. We only had 2 duffle bags so it wasn’t a super big problem just a bit inconvenient. Other than that it was a great stay! Parking has in/out access.

room was small. no small refrigerator. no view. restaurant was very good.

The bed was comfy! Toiletries were available. Nice Starbucks and water station on the first floor. Breakfast was really good

This was a very nice and unique property. Enjoyed the friendly staff and amenities

Staff was great, hotel was nice. Had issues with the wifi and connecting to the TV, AC in room was dreadful and wasnt turned on before check in. Took over 12 hours to cool.

There was free tea and Starbucks coffee available 24 hours a day on a cute little deck outside. The hotel property was beautiful and their bar and eatery is amazing. The location is doable a little rough but walkable to nicer areas. The parking was not the best unfortunately. The AC unit in our room did not help with the heat, but as nightfall, we felt much more comfortable temperature wise. Overall, I would stay here again.

Honestly pretty much everything about the place is great. The only two things I would say were not great was the parking and the AC unit. The parking garage is around on the other side of the building so you have to walk around the block to get to the hotel unless there is a way to cut through which no one ever really explained. The AC unit in our room was a portable unit which is fine but this unit did not cool the room down and there was a heat wave while we were staying there. It brought the temp down a little but it was still a bit warm. The gentleman tried to fix it and even swapped it out with another one but it was only a little better. Otherwise everyone was super nice. We got some awesome gifts like a drink voucher, complimentary bottle wine, and a comic con bag with goodies in it. Everything was super clean and organized. I think our room might have been the only unique room where they had to use the portable AC unit as I saw other rooms had the “in window” ones or another kind of unit, so the issue we had I don’t think was universal. Overall I would recommend this place!

A wonderful experience! The staff was so charming and welcoming, I was completely won over before I even got to my room. The hotel itself is lovely and historic, nestled in the vibrant Gaslamp District. I love that the windows open! It seems like a small thing, but with the ocean just blocks away, the fresh breeze off the Pacific is well worth enjoying. I highly recommend and hope to visit again soon.

The hotel is very pretty and clean. The room smelled so good when walking in. The staff were extremely helpful and kind. The only critique I have is lack of amenities in the room itself.

Todo estaba perfecto y limpio

1) There is NO elevator. You have to walk up 3 long flights of stairs to get to your room. 2) These rooms are like a Hostel. There is a communal phone out in the hall. But no telephone or alarm clock in your room. No dresser with drawers. Bathroom has no counter space & nowhere to plug in a curling iron near a mirror or have space for putting on makeup. 3) They advertise “premium bedding”. Thats a total lie. These are 250 thread count sheets on the worst mattress ever. In fact, we slept on the sidewalk in line at Comic-Con. It was no different than the bed. 4) They don’t have air conditioning. There are small units in the rooms. It never felt comfortably cool to keep up. But it was 1000% better than the hallway, stairs, & lobby that had no AC going. At one point the young man at the front desk was wiping drops of sweat off his forehead as I was standing there talking to him. 5.) Skip the restaurant. Don’t bother trying to use that $25 food credit. Just go down somewhere else & save your stomach. 6)We were there for a total of 4 nights. We did not have housekeeping the entire time. We had to take out our own garbage every night as we’d come back to the room and the room was untouched. 7) I don’t know how this place has multiple 5 star reviews & question their validity. So, hopefully someone will take the time to read this & run away & book elsewhere.

Very nice historic hotel in a slightly run down area of Gas Lamp. Our room was comfortable but the air conditioning was weak so our room was very warm
