The Beau Hotel Gaslamp Quarter San Diego

Solo women traveler: after stressing out about a previous reservation I Had at another place and finding this location! It was an excellent experience and so clean and cute! The location is just walking distance to everything or a quick uber drive somewhere else.

Convenient location and felt very safe in the area. The staff were very kind and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again.

I liked that this was a historic hotel-- the rooms are updated for modern comfort but maintain a unique look. There is a fantastic outdoor patio on the 2nd floor outside of a coffee and water station, and the restaurant has good ambiance and breakfast. However, we stayed when the weather was hot and humid, and the temperature in our 3rd floor room was miserable. The hotel has portable window air conditioners but the unit was not turned on in our room prior to checking in. The staff told me the room should cool down quickly after turning on the AC but we were gone for an entire Padres game and the temperature was practically the same when we returned. We couldn't open the window because there was engine revving and tire squealing up and down the downtown streets well into the night. Management must be aware of noise-- there were ear plugs left in our room, and a quick Google search after the fact revealed that this is a common issue. This hotel needs to figure out how their guests can get a decent night's sleep.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The hotel is in a great location with easy walking access to Petco Park and many nearby restaurants and attractions. We especially enjoyed dining at The Witherby, which offered a delicious menu, handcrafted cocktails, and outstanding service. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Great place to stay for a padres game!

My only comment I would leave is that the toilet paper handle needs to be adjusted because it’s too loose. Just in case because it seems like the toilet paper might fall in the garbage.

We stayed on a Friday night and left for the airport very early Saturday morning. The bar around the corner seemed to get louder after midnight. When we left for the airport the streets had many groups still wandering around.

A million degrees in the room. Impossible to sleep. The AC doesn’t work . Night time staff guy gaslighting me. Would never stay here again.

So overall, I will say. The hotel is very nice and clean. Rams are on the smaller side which I didn't mind, but my husband would have liked a little bit more space to move around. Excellent location to be able to walk to many locations nearby and I will say that the bar located inside of the hotel was excellent. The bar had delicious food and amazing cocktails. Only problem I had with this place was dealing with the staff at checkin. Just not the friendliest employees, not really good communication and not good customer service skills. I just was not happy with the staff at the front desk at both checking in and checking out. But I did like the hotel so much that I would deal with them to stay there again

Now I'm trying to call and have been on hold with music for over 20 minutes. Now I have to dispute this with my bank.

Hotel itself is very nice, clean and adorable with decor and style. Rooms are smaller which doesn't bother me. Walking distance to gaslamp and a 12 min walk to Petco Park. The bar/restaurant is inside right by the check in lobby and had delicious food and amazing cocktails. The only thing I can say about this stay is the front desk help needs to learn communication skills and customer service. They made check in a little difficult and weren't pleasant to deal with but besides them I like the The Beau overall.

Terrible experience. No A/C in room. They have a fan in room with partially opened window in 90 degree weather. I traveled with my wife and 5 month year old baby. No elevator in hotel. They gave me a room on the third floor, so imagine traveling upstairs with a lot of luggage bags, a baby stroller, car seat, etc. For all our ask, the hotel’s employees response, was “oh, the hotel is working on it”. I won’t recommend anyone staying here

The entire place was very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly, including the room cleaning crew. The beds were 10/10 comfortable!! Great and convenient location.

I really enjoyed my stay.

The location was perfect. It was within walking distance of everything in Downtown - public transportation, Petco ballpark, Margaritaville where our 5k/10k was, and great food. Also like the history of the building - used to house international students so ceilings were super high and, the bar/restaurant used to be a Speakeasy and still has that vibe. It was unusually hot in San Diego and while there was an in-room air-conditioner our room was on the warm side.

The room was clean and well kept. The garage for the hotel is not attached and is behind the building operated by a different company. The TV was unable to connect to wifi. Walls are a bit thin so you can hear guests in the hallway. Overall a good experience.
