Comfort Inn Sea World Area

Location was close to freeway & airport. Heard the planes when awake, but not at night. Good water pressure, clean room and nice breakfast. Eggs, sausage, lots of drink choices, breads, waffles and some fruit and yogurt. Queen beds firm with cushy pillows. Breakfast line was long due to time we were there, but many places to sit. Raising Cane's across the street and walkable. Friendly staff, about 10 minutes from Balboa Park.

The staff was super helpful. We stayed two nights and had two rooms. On our first night, my friend and her boyfriend experienced trouble with their air conditioning unit. The AC sparked, made weird noises, shut off, and was dripping water. In the morning, we alerted the front desk. They were on it right away. They gave them a new room with a functioning AC, only one room away, so we were still close to them. Besides that, everything was nice. The bed was very big and comfortable. The room was clean. There was plenty of parking. They not only had parking outside near the rooms, but they also had underground garage parking. It was an easy 10-minute walk to Pechanga Arena.

We have stayed here many times. This last time was horrible. The cooler said 61, but the room was hot and they do not have fans to use in the room. I'm pretty sure the people above us had 25 people in the room as they stomped around all night. My son did not sleep at all due to the people above us. The floors were dirty. I walked from the bathroom to the bed after I showered and the bottoms of my feet were filthy. The homeless are also taking over the area. Horrible experience this time.

I reserved three rooms for three nights for a family trip for 12. The hotel was able to put all three rooms right next to each other which was nice for the kids to move between rooms. The rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, the ac worked great. The bathroom didn't have the best ventilation so we often opened the door before getting dressed in order to let some of the steam out, but not a big deal. The sink is separate from the shower and toilet, which was nice. There is washers and dryers available for a small fee. The breakfast was good, but was very busy for the entire breakfast offering time and was busy everyday. The kids enjoyed the waffles and the sausage. There was a nice outside eating area which was nice, we used it everyday because it was so crowded inside. The parking spaces were small, but there was plenty of spaces available. Seems like parking spaces were smaller in San Diego in general. The area is not the best ( but this may just be my opinion) but we never felt unsafe. There is a Raising Cane's right in front of the hotel, easy walking distance. There was anything you could want such as food, gas and grocery stores right in close proximity. The hotel is not far from the beaches. Overall a great stay and we will be staying again next time we visit.

My family spent 3 nights here. Contrary to the reviews we read before our trip, we did not see alot of homeless people in the neighborhood, the area is relatively quiet and the nightspot close by had no effect on our stay. The area is industrial, but there are a lot of business establishments that will be beneficial to your stay. The only issue was the Dennys pictured in the Google view is now a Cane's. The hotel staff were Amazing. I would definitely stay there again.

The biggest issue was the bed design. The mattress sits on a large metal (tin) box foundation that extends beyond the mattress. Throughout the night, our feet repeatedly hit the sharp metal edge, creating a loud noise each time. It was uncomfortable and frequently disturbed other family members who were sleeping. This seems like a poor design choice and could easily lead to injuries. The bathroom was another concern. The bathtub/shower did not appear to be installed or sealed properly, causing water to leak onto the bathroom floor after every shower. The floor would flood, making it inconvenient and creating a potential slipping hazard. The furniture throughout the room looked dirty and poorly maintained. It gave the impression that regular cleaning and upkeep were lacking. The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast. The food quality was decent, and the breakfast staff did a good job. That is the primary reason I’m giving this hotel 2 stars instead of 1. I hope the management addresses these maintenance and housekeeping issues, especially the unsafe bed frame design and the bathroom water leakage, to improve future guests’ experience.
