E-Z 8 Motel Old Town

Place is great the staff is awesome

I had stayed here before in the past and it was just okay but this last time which was last night was absolutely disgusting and horrendous. First off when I walked into the room I went for the switch which is right by the door and the light wouldn't turn on because it didn't work so I had to use the bathroom light, and then I go to turn on the TV and the TV didn't work because there was no signal, and then I ended up killing five disgusting roaches that were crawling around on the wall and some in the bathroom, and then I left to go get dinner I come back and there's a huge Roach the size of half a dollar bill crawling around in the room. I was so creeped out and unbelievably disgusted you don't even know just how much and then on top of that I go to sleep afraid that a roach is going to crawl in my ear but anyways I fell asleep and at 2:00 in the morning I wake up to Knocking, at first I thought I was dreaming but I woke up and I laid there listening and there it goes again sure enough at 2:00 a.m. somebody was knocking at my door and I did not move an inch because I'm a woman and I was by myself. I cannot believe I wasted money on a roach infested room with no TV and no light and the outside and the stairs are just unbelievably disgusting it just looks like those buildings those rooms just the whole property needs to be torn down. I am so disappointed so unbelievably disappointed that I waste money there. I would have rather slept in my car. I feel ROBBED!

No soap in the room. When I asked the staff for soap, she said the property doesn’t have any. The phone in the room had no dial tone. Internet is an extra fee. The door to the room was difficult to open with the key.

Exceptional

The hotel is awful. Do not stay here it is the WORST hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Creepy people walking around and peering out of their room doors at you. DO NOT bring a family here. DO NOT stay here. Room was filled with old furniture. Room curtains had holes in them and No AC. Police patrol the parking lot constantly. Very dangerous area Expedia should remove this property. I was a single male and since I wasn’t getting a refund I made the best of it. Train goes by so loud it feels like it’s going through your room. Pool was pad locked. Room smelled like cig smoke. Old Town is walking distance but unsafe walking because of the street people. Area is unsafe and filthy.

Pool and hot tub were closed with explanation. I will say if you just need a bed and a shower and cheap place to stay for the night then ok.

I paid $190 for my room after taxes and fees. I requested a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room that smelled terrible. There was a lot of gnats in the room. There was a couple of holes in the walls. There were no outlets next to the beds. The bathroom door would not close due to the door frame being warped. The bureau was missing a drawer. Not what I was expecting for the price I paid. I’ve paid less for motels that were much nicer. I felt totally ripped off and did not have the time to cancel and go somewhere else, otherwise I would have. I would not pay more than $80 a night after taxes and fees (and even then it’s being generous).

Honestly really sketchy. The rooms A/C was busted, there were for sure drug deals going on in multiple rooms, and overall just felt dirty and dingy. I suppose if you’re in a pinch, this will suffice, but if you’re trying to stay somewhere half way decent, avoid this place. The bright spot was the gentleman working in the office. He was really very nice and super helpful. There’s on-site security, but I think the dude was more interested in making sure his phone was paid attention to over the safety of guests.

Keep the good job place.

Worst hotel I ever stayed at, Price gouged 5X during Comic Con

Quiet with no hassels. No frills or luxury but fits the needs and is a no problem mind your own business kind of place, none of those always watching curious guests that can be trying. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. My go to place with a good price for a quick stay

Nothing that I can think of. We'll i guess the roaches were unique.

I know the place is on the cheap side for San Diego but for the price you think you would get complimentary shampoo and conditioner. Instead you get an exterior that is falling apart and smells of dog urine. And while the rooms are fairly clean they smell of a combination of cigarette smoke, mold and a cheap perfume to cover it all up. If you need a cheap place to sleep and are brave this place works. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with a family trying to save a few bucks.

Did not get rooms re requested only got a one bed

People playing loud music & hanging outside loitering. Felt unsafe. Staff locked guests out during their lunch break. Awful place to stay! Cannot believe this was on Hotels.com!
