Clean room and great breakfast.

This property is a quaint older family owned hotel in the heart of old town Sandiego. The location was great. The vibe was great. We only stayed for one night, so a more comprehensive review is not possible. But overall, this hotel was just what we wanted in a non-glass and chrome non-chain hotel close to old town.

Room wax standard and the pool area was nice. Was worth the cost but we didn’t like the neighborhood or the massive naval warfare buildings across the street.

Love the staff friendliness and professionalism.

Really enjoyed this little oasis of a hotel. Minutes walk from the Old Town transit centre, just walk in the direction of the busy highway and it's along the road on the left (opposite the huge white naval building) Room was spacious with a full kitchen. Very comfy bed, little living room area too. Pool is beautifully maintained, cleaned every morning. Breakfast is free and we enjoyed it. Not hot breakfast but enough to fill you to start the day! Every single team member was friendly. Rooms are cleaned quickly and effectively. Grounds are beautiful with lots of flowers. We walked to Old Town most days and used the transit hub a lot. Check out Gaslamp district a few stops away on the metro. We needed to do laundry and their is a guest laundry available. We will for sure stay here again. If you need a supermarket, walk to the right outside of the hotel, turn right again and you will come to a Burger King and other stores, including a grocery store.

A little outdated for the price.

Rest of hotel seemed tidy. Good location near a Trolley station. Next to freeway.

Exceptional as always. Staff is very friendly the room was nice and clean. Breakfast was decent you can make your own waffles. They had a variety of cereals bagels breads and fruits along with some eggs and yogurts. Pool was refreshing and they provided extra towls for swimming. Overall one of my favorite places to stay. Quiet and close to old town san deigo

Room smelled like mildew and blanket smelled a bit mildewie as well. Like its an antique and has been stored in bag too long without being washed. But aside from the smell of old mildew it looked clean and location was great for the Pechanga Arena

It is a quaint inn but we were on the second floor and the third floor was very noisy with jumping the whole 3 days. We could also hear the person next door snoring. It is located by everything we went to….old town, sea world and little Italy. The bed was comfy and the shower worked great. I asked the front desk for help with a breakfast place and they were very helpful. They also have really good coffee

Nope. Won’t do this facility again.

I immediately alerted the front desk and got a verbal apology. Next morning, I raised the issue again with another front desk staff, and his response was that the management and the cleaning crew would come at 8:30 a.m. I had to return to the conference and came back to the hotel to check out at 11 a.m. The third person appears to be a manager, but he was not informed of my concerns by neither of the two staffs. He first asked me whether I left the door - not possible as I was in town for a conference and out between 8 a.m. - 9 p.m and the room was cleaned during my absence. He apologized and offered me a free night stay if I came back to the hotel. Needless to say, I am not going back to this hotel, and no free night communication came despite him taking down my e-mail address.

Cons: shampoo, conditioner, and body wash required 100+ pumps to produce even the most average amount of product for use. Extremely frustrating.

Our stay was great. Room was clean. Pool was clean. Staff was great.

This is a 4.5 for me, but since the reason I'd dock half a star has to do with a food allergy, I'll give 5 rather than 4. The included breakfast has a lot, but not much for me to eat with a gluten allergy. I took a hard-boiled egg, but it tasted wrong when I started to eat it, so I didn't finish it. The only yogurt available was Yoplait, which is pure sugar, so that wasn't a great option for me either. In the end, I found my breakfast elsewhere. Otherwise, this was a great stay and if you don't have a food allergy, probably would be five stars for you.

The tv was not functioning and I brought it to the attention of four people over several days with no resolution. When checking out on June 27, 2026 it still did not work. Upon arriving home I sent a email to old Town Inn requesting an explanation of why they were not following their policy of “if something isn’t right they will take care of it”. I have received no response from Old Town Inn. I have stayed here over twenty times over the last 25 years and always rated Old Town Inn extremely high. I am so disappointed. A previous manager was great but I think she retired a couple of years ago.

Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable. It had a kitchenette, which I can see being so useful, especially for those with allergies or small children who need meals at different times. It even had pots and pans, a small freezer/fridge, and dish soap. There's shampoo and conditioner in the shower, although our daughter felt it was harsh on her hair. The hand soap they provide is really nice. The OTI is situated in a slightly odd area, sandwiched in between industrial buildings. However, that doesn't affect the quality of the hotel itself. If you want to go to Old Town from here, you can walk, but the train depot has a lot of homeless people and walking through the parking lot to get there can be unpleasant. There is a parking lot just off the main drag of Old Town, and it's free. The night we were there, the hotel was sold out and unfortunately parking was a challenge. Street parking is not an option, and due to the location of the hotel. We didn't use the pool, but it looked clean and nice. The free breakfast is bagels, oatmeal, cereal, boiled eggs, coffee, juice, etc. It was really popular and seemed to be appreciated by all those in the breakfast room (which was a lot). All in all a good trip and we'd stay there again.

I liked the nostalgia

When I checked in, we were initially assigned a room that someone hadn’t checked out of - clothes on the bed, shoes in the kitchen, immediately turned around to front desk asking for another room. So next room seemed fine until day two when we came back to the toilet constantly running and the fill valve broken - the thing had pushed up the lid to the toilet, called front desk and they came over to look at it, but maintenance had already left for the night so we were stuck with a toilet that was running and I was seriously concerned the valve was going to burst and create a geyser in the bathroom. Fortunately day 3 maintenance came and fixed the toilet while we were out. My wife and kids all had black feet from walking around the carpet for a few minutes ahead of showering. I get stuff happens that causes maintenance issues, but the pictures and description are misleading at best, we would not stay here again.
