Was expecting better service for the price we paid but it was clean and better was comfy

We enjoyed our stay in Old Towne. The room was good for the price. We did get a $25/day for parking. But overall trip was good! Great location! All kinds of great places to eat within walking distance.

Older hotel but very clean. Great location for what we wanted to do and see close to trolley station and Old Town San Diego.

The breakfast was delicious, always hot and plentiful with many choices. The breakfast staff was polite, pleasant and helpful. The breakfast room was very clean. The hotel grounds, rooms, lobby were immaculate and the staff was always outside cleaning the entranceway and pool area. The pool area was comfortable and towels were provided. The staff was immediately responsive to all requests and inquiries. I would highly recommend this location and would certainly return for another stay. The room should have more lighting, more towel racks in the bathroom and hooks for towels. Two or three luggage racks should be provided for more than one person staying in the room. We were three adults in the room and the lack of drying areas for our towels was a problem and we had to use the chairs for our suitcases. We did have a problem with a wet rug by the bed which was brought to the attention of the desk manager the morning after our arrival. We thought that it was a minimal problem until day 3 when it was still wet. At that time, we told the desk manager and he immediately changed our room and the staff was then on the job to dry the rug. This could have caused mold if not addressed and should not be used for customers until it is completely remedied. Perhaps the carpeting should be totally removed and new carpeting installed. Both managers were very pleasant, apologetic, and accommodating to our dilemma.

I liked the size of the suite. The A/C did not work but they did come fix it after the 2nd request. Staff was nice. The breakfast was decent. Not much to walk to under a mile, except the Bistro at the Marriott.

Room was ready but charged me 35 for early check in. Never have I done that for two hours early. Not expressed.

Location is very convenient and close to everything, and staff was lovely Room was outdated and the bed was very uncomfortable, felt like the room and carpet needed deep cleaning. Otherwise good for short stays!
-
We stayed for 4 nights they never cleaned our room at all !!!!

It's somewhat noisy if your room races the street, as there is a freeway on that side. Old Town was a cool area. There are street markets on the weekend and some good restaurants

The price charged ($225 per night) was more in line with a 3 or 4 star property. This place was 2 stars at best. Doors opened to an outside corridor. Our room needed major upgrading. Only one plug worked, and that was in the bathroom. There were other plugs, but they were so old the charger wouldn’t stay in. The bed was comfortable and clean, but the tub was peeling and moldings cracked and gave the appearance of being rundown. Our room wasn’t cleaned after the first night, so towels weren’t replaced. The pool looked nice, we didn’t use it. We were charged $25/ per day for parking. Again, motels of this caliber never charge for parking. The safe in the room didn’t work and only two lamps provided dim light. The furniture was old and outdated, closet was portable and not built into room. The ironing board didn’t have a pad, so it was basically unuseable. Air conditioning worked but numbers were worn so you didn’t know what you would get. The drapes and blinds were damaged. Overall, the room was very small, mostly bed. The breakfast was run of the mill, like motel food, tasteless. The front desk guy seemed nice and cheerful.

Brian helped check my family and I in, he was so helpful and told us where we could find places to eat!
-
The employee checking us in was excellent. She was very accommodating. At around Midnight we got a call from Angel at the front desk asking if we were in the room because it showed we weren't checked in. This caused us to wake up.

This was a last minute booking. To my surprise it was an excellent choice. The place is very clean. All staff is pleasant. Upon checking in we were helped by Wendy , who goes above and beyond to meet your needs. Manager came out and welcomed us. Breakfast offered was gd, variety of choice, very clean area. I would recommend to others. I will return here for future SD visits.

Don’t plan on parking in the underground lot unless you have a compact car. I witnessed 2 vehicles scraping the concrete posts and one another car. It is just too tight for today’s SUV’s and pickup trucks.

The Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the hot breakfast. The hotel it self has a few amenities and is older than expected but overall it was a good fit for what I needed.
