Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites San Diego-Sorrento Valley by IHG

Let me say the good things first: the staff was helpful and friendly so that was good. In my opinion, breakfast was decent, and my room looked and smelt clean. The bad: we were unfortunately next to a room that had noisy people in it. I know this is not the hotels fault necessarily, but when I decided to call the lobby with our room’s phone, the lobby’s number wasn’t going through like it was disconnected. Additionally, that same day we decided to go to the pool and the gate’s key reader that it’s used to access the pool wasn’t working. It’s not a crazy big deal, just went through the fitness room’s door (good thing there is access to the pool through there) but what I’m going with all this is that paying +$200 for a single night on this hotel is not acceptable and I am expecting everything to work the first time. If all this wouldn’t bother you at that price range, then you’ll be fine staying there. The big plus too is that is away from any major highway so no road noise there thankfully. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough and will not be roomed next to rowdy neighbors.

Worst experience with lost and found service. I left my makeup bag in my room during checkout on June 2. Staff found it and I gave my mailing address to TWO different employees with clear instructions to ship it to me. It is now June 29th and I have received NOTHING. No phone call, no email, no tracking number, no apology. I have called multiple times and the manager never calls back. This is complete negligence. Do not trust them with your belongings. Unacceptable service

I love that it wasn’t bustling with people and that the water in the shower had great water pressure. The staff was cordial and I like the location.

stay was just an overnight. close proximity to Thornton hospital. everything about room and amenities was exactly as expected, everything needed provided. would definately stay here again. perhaps not enough parking. happy to have a starbucks right outside the front door!

Breakfast was yummy and our kids liked the different choices. Everything was clean and staff were friendly. We loved the 24/7 coffee bar!!
