Residence Inn by Marriott San Diego Sorrento Mesa/Sorrento Valley

Upon entering the unit #116, we smelled insecticide that was recently sprayed. Later that night, after getting ready for bed, we noticed the ac was not working around 9:00 p.m . The front desk sent a maintenance worker who took about 30 mins trying to figure out the issue. After leaving the front desk, they called to tell us they were not able to fix the problem . She offered us another room around 9:45pm but my smaller children were already asleep, and the hassle from having to move from the 1st floor to the 3rd floor was not an option. So we declined, opened the windows, and went to bed . However, throughout the night, we were hot; no covers were needed . The next morning, we packed up and exchanged rooms . The pool was oily and not cleaned . Other than that, everything else was fine . The bad review is mostly due in part to the hotel or its staff not offering any adjustments or points to my account for the inconvenience. To be fair, I didn’t ask, and I shouldn’t have to .

Breakfast was great Could do without the parking fee.

Very friendly staff and the hotel is between Del Mar and Torrey pines/Gaslamp which makes it an ideal location.

Staff was pleasant. food was ok. need more choices for vegetarians. room was clean.

We were in the second floor of the property and the people above us were so loud, running back and forth through the room non stop until late at night. We tried to take a nap but it was not possible due to the excessive noise coming from the unit. We complained but the noise continued even to next day when we checked out.

The room was perfect and the kitchen was the best part.

To top off everything , our. room was never cleaned or bed made up. The positive note was the breakfast buffet, which was outstanding.

The hotel is very dated. Needs to be renovated. The staff was in a hurry to check me in, and the cleaning staff did not speak English. The breakfast was not great and they didn't offer the waffles on weekends! The waffles are everyone's favorite!

The staff was absolutely fantastic and very helpful with anything that you ever need. The rooms definitely need to be updated. Killed a cockroach in my room.(but they discounted some of my nightly parking for the inconvenience.)

This place had nice rooms and a very good breakfast ! the grounds could be cleaner and the landscaping needs to be upgraded flowers and plants etc….

1. There was no cleaning done during the stay. We had to go and ask for fresh towels. 2. Extra bedding for the sofa-bed was bad quality and rough. We had to get our own blanket from home 3. Dishes were dirty when we checked in and they were not usable. We had to get our own disposables from outside

Front desk Earl and Mia were extremely kind and courteous as was Carol in the breakfast room. Carol was bright and cheerful.

My entire stay went so well! I enjoyed the property a lot as it was very relaxing, peaceful, quiet, and clean. Staff was very friendly and surprised us with cookies for my son’s birthday. I would 100% return.
