Hotel Indigo San Diego-Gaslamp Quarter by IHG

It’s been a few years since I’ve stayed here, the place has become very run down. The furniture in the lobby and in the rooms was stained or broken( bed, lamp, dresser). Valet was $70.00 a night, not one offer off help off load or load luggage. Charge in advance a mandatory $35.00 to use the gym, ride their bikes and eat onsite. I didn’t do any of those things. Through the years I’ve stayed here maybe 6 times, definitely was my last time. Not reflective of the hotel.. but that whole Gaslamp area smells like dog urine and the drug issues make it unsafe to just walk around.

Stayed in a room where we could see the Padres stadium and it didn’t disappoint. The view was awesome and surprisingly you could actually open the window quite a bit! Unfortunately, it was super humid while we were there, but the AC worked very well and the room was comfortable for two travelers. Huge bathroom and nice shower with hot water and excellent water pressure. The bed was very comfortable, and there was two pillows for each person. They also give you one free water bottle a day for each visitor guest so that was also super convenient. The elevators were fast so going up 6 flights was quick. The hotel itself was quiet and only one night (Saturday night) was really loud from the street, people screaming, lots of sirens but what you’d expect being so close to the stadium and the gas lamp district. Speaking of, the location was perfect for walking to lots of restaurants, bars, coffee, etc. The valet/parking was expensive, but honestly worth it because I’m not sure where else we would have parked, and they were super quick about getting the car once you called. We did not check out the restaurant on the ninth floor or the breakfast in the restaurant in the lobby, but the free coffee was great and they did have flavored creamer, which is always a plus. Overall, no real complaints! I would definitely stay there again.

We told the front desk and they did nothing all day. Then when we got back to our room, there was worse that had come up. Night desk guy got a night repairman to fix the drain, but we were up til midnight with the cleanup. The resort fee is ridiculous.

Clean, updated, quiet room, even though we stayed right next to the elevators. Would definitely stay again.

Overall the hotel was nice.

Loved the convenience of the location. We had a view of the park from our room! Staff for hotel were super friendly and helpful. And the bar up top was relaxing. We had a credit each night for food or beverage. Just be prepared to pay 70$ a night for valet. Unless you want to park a couple blocks over at a parking garage. May be full though if there’s a Padres game.

We enjoyed our stay- room was spacious, clean and updated. Hotel was in an excellent location and close to many restaurants/ bars and good walking distance to many places.
