Reviews

We had an enjoyable time. The hotel maintained a very good set up.
-
Justin at front desk was sarcastic and rude. He let some guy cut the line when there were 6 guest in line waiting to be checked out and most with families. When asked about it he was condescending.
-
Bed was horrible. Ended up leaving with back pain.

Originally planned on a stay at mission Bay resort. Ended up checking out the same day we checked in and booked here instead. Best decision we could have possibly made for our trip. Hotel and pool area is super clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Lots of great restaurants close by. Overall very enjoyable experience.

The hotel and everything on the grounds was very clean. Every staff member I met or talked to was extremely polite and accommodating. They had various options at the hotel. I would definitely return and stay again.

We loved our stay at the Hyatt La Jolla. About a 18 min drive from the main shops and restaurants area, great pool and amenities, restaurant and cafe on site were nice to have when travelling with small kids. The property is well maintained. Rooms are comfortable, could be a bit updated and cleaner but the beds and bedding were clean and comfortable. The staff was very nice and accomodating when we asked them to push one of the beds to the wall to precent our toddler from falling at night. Would stay there again as it was very convenient for family travel.

Clean room, amazing property and amenities

Dust was everywhere—on surfaces you wouldn’t notice unless you looked closely, which points to careless housekeeping and poor management oversight. The headboard was caked with dust, ready to fall on you while sleeping. Both the intake and supply vents for the HVAC were also covered in dust—absolutely unacceptable. Many of the lamps and furniture were rusty, and the hot water kept cutting in and out, making a comfortable shower impossible. The shower itself had a half-glass door that allowed water to splash all over the floor, creating a slippery mess. To make matters worse, the faucet was loose, and much of the trim throughout the room looked old and dirty. Instead of feeling like a world-class Hyatt Regency, the room resembled a budget motel. Another frustration was the lack of cash availability. I had to wander around just to get change so I could tip housekeeping, the bellhop, and valet. None of the hotel outlets or restaurants carried cash. Very inconvenient. Overall, this stay was disappointing and far below the standard I’ve come to expect from Hyatt.

Our stay was amazing except for one comforter that had some stain but they replaced it right away. The front desk clerk was amazing as well as the waiters at the bar.

I needed a hotel conveniently located near UCSD. This hotel was great! The staff were helpful and informative. I was able to walk to key offices. The breakfasts & light meals were well planned and pretty reasonable. I would definitely recommend it and stay there again.
