Beautiful landscape, excellent food, and comfortable rooms.

Staff are very friendly

This property is a beautiful complex. Lovely grounds, nice pool, nice restaurants, upscale rooms. That said, it’s expensive. Food and drinks on site are delicious but a bit overpriced. For example, the breakfast buffet is $45 a person without any alcoholic beverages and cocktails at the pool are around $20. We went there for our honeymoon and it was a very nice homebase for the week. Easy trip into the town of La Jolla to eat or into San Diego or Temecula wine country or even across the border into Baja California. There were a few times I wish the staff would have been more helpful but overall, it is a nice resort.

The rooms look very outdated. Clean, but certainly, the price is overstated. The staff is not very helpful as well. Disappointed.

Our room was not ready at check in time (4pm). We were never notified of this when we pre-checked in at 3pm. We were told that the people in the room had a late check out and that it would be ready no later than 6:30pm! After getting upset, a manager came out and said the room was ready. I am sure if I did not get upset, we would have been waiting longer. Other than that, our room was clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient.

Staff were friendly and very nice outdoor view. We had breakfast at Greenwich. Food took long time to be served even though they only had a few tables.

The staff was nice and generally quite quick to help. They posture as an upscale resort and spa, but housekeeping left my room-service waste outside my room when they cleaned (they moved it from inside on a table to outside on the ground) and there were rats outside my door in the evening. The food is all generally the same, despite having four restaurants. There is a kitchen next to the gym and pool so you smell grease extensively while working out and swimming. All in all though better than most other hotels in La Jolla area.

So fresh and clean. Comfortable beds and soft bedding. Great food on the property and the vegetation and courtyards are beautiful. Definitely a must stay destination

Breakfast at Greenfinch (?) was good and filling. The wait staff were attentive. The day we were at the pool, the cafe was closed. If you go to the pool, go early. If you wait, there may not be any chairs. We had to rent a cabana. Definitely not worth the money. In the first cabana, the TV didn’t work. In the second cabana, the fan didn’t work. We were told maintenance would come to fix it. That didn’t happen. Additionally, the pool waitstaff did their best to keep. But, we only saw the waitstaff once during our 5 hour pool time. The rooms were large, as were our the bathrooms. Good water pressure in the shower. The beds were comfortable. The valet staff were amazing. Prompt, efficient and professional. Out of all the service we had here, definitely the best. I saw many people (leadership staff walking around in suits). They never spoke, nor asked how the stay was. Additionally, after all of the issues with the Caban, no one apologized nor asked if we would like a discount. Very disappointing. Compared to other resorts (we travel frequently), I would not return. The reason I gave it a 4 is for the valet staff and grounds. Otherwise, I would have given it a 3. Also, if you aren’t from California, the weather in the morning and evening was cool.

Loved everything

Beautiful property and amazing staff! We had such a wonderful stay at Estancia la Jolla. The hotel was such a nice, peaceful, escape! We loved everything- the plants, gardens, and whimsical touches. We had our wedding at Estancia and it was the BEST day! Our hotel guests loved their stay and the entire experience! They commented on how the good the food and service were. However, what really set this place apart from other hotels is the staff! Everyone was so friendly, helpful, and professional. They went above and beyond! The rooms were clean and stocked with water.

Really quaint hotel better than expected I'm happy that it wasn't in the busy part of La Jolla we were in our own little bubble and had some nice walks down by the beach

It was a great experience. I would recommend this resort as a vacation destination.

We arrived a bit early for the 4PM check in and were unable to check in. We tried to hang out by the pool but the DJ was raucous and there was no space, which felt surprising given the occupancy of the rest of the weekend. It felt like an oversold day party. Once the 4PM check in hit there was a huge line to check in. The system felt a bit chaotic but the staff was efficient. The rest of our stay was lovely.
