LYFE INN & SUITES by AGA - San Diego Airport/Point Loma

The hotel was newly renovated, clean and the price was good. The front desk recommended the Uptown Bar across the street for dinner. The place was hopping and the food was delicious. On the negative side, there was a lot of street noise and light filtered in because one side of our corner room didn't have a room darkening shade.

There were bright lights shining into our room so it was like daylight all night long, no black out curtains. The beds were so close together you had to walk sideways to get into bed and the other sides were right up against the air conditioner and the wall.

Clean, parking available, price was fair.

CONS: 1. Smells , just a weird odor throughout . The lobby smells, the rooms smell, I’m pregnant and I almost couldn’t handle it. 2. Although updated , it wasn’t really clean. We killed a spider and we also found a big spider leg on one of our towels. 3. Lack of amenities ( no hair dryer, no iron, no tissue box). We also ran out of toilet paper our last morning there (2 nights). Overall, we didn’t mind the stay for the cost. Biggest thing was the smell honestly, it was intense. Room 311.

Fantastic booking person, great location

Great location. Walking distance to waterfront and Shelter Island. Rooms look to have been recently renovated and linens were new and clean. The bed was comfortable. Updated bathroom. This is a basic hotel with no frill rooms, but if your looking for clean and great location and a good price, considering your other options, this is it!

This place is scam

The description of the room was deceiving making it seem it would be larger and the TV had limited selections.

Peaceful and quiet

What a little gem in Point Loma. Literally a 10 -15 minute walk to the marina, with restaurants and a nice bar over the road from the property. Clean and modern room and bathroom and parking beneath the property.

Excellent

It was a place to stay. The desk clerk was pleasant enough. I was disappointed that, checking in, it felt much like a cheap motel because I could smell overly strong dinner cooking. Curry? Anyhow. The place was CLEAN, austere (no decorations at all), and we stood in the doorway, wondering if we were duped. The bed was a foam mattress, way too low to the ground. It was a place to spend the night. And it was Clean. I would not stay here again.

The light shining into the room was awful. I had read another review about the extremely bright light and I can confirm that it's terrible. The "curtain" on the window may as well be tissue paper because it doesn’t do anything. I barely slept and wished I had brought my eye pillow. The location is good for easy access to coffee shops, restaurants, and Shelter Island or just a walk along the harbor.

The room was alright, comfortable bed, nice TV and lights but the overall property looks very old. Good water pressure, the AC goes from 0 to 100, bit difficult to have stable temperature. Ok if you are staying only for one night and have no trouble sleeping. Kind regards,
