PB Surf Beachside Inn

Room size was excellent. Two queen beds with kitchenette. Only problem with parking is your parking spot is not guaranteed in front of your unit. Staff was friendly and helpful. Ocean right there and within walking distance of everything. Will stay here again.

Other than the location and kind staff, this hotel is the worst I've ever stayed at on Pacific beach. Parking is very sparce, the construction and usefulness of the room was absurd. We had to ask for fresh towels multiple times and they don't freshen the rooms during your stay. Additionally there was no enforcement of any kind of conduct amongst the guests which resulted in all night parties, loud guests talking all night outside in the common area and loud music until 4:30am. For the price they charge, even on a holiday, it was definitely low value. We definitely will not return.

The rooms are recently refreshed however the walls are thin and the outside noise from other guests can be disruptive. Parking is difficult. Easy walk to the beach and local restaurants.

Love this location in PB! Easy beach access and walking distance to so many great restaurants and bars. Nice rooms with renovated bathrooms with large showers. 2nd time staying here and will be back again!

The staff were friendly and helpful when needed. The room was clean and well maintained. The parking lot was small but I was able to find a space. It was in a nice location that was within walking distance for everything I wanted to do.

Recently remodeled. Room much more updated than what it looks like on the outside. Great price for being so close to the beach. The pool is at the sister hotel a block over. Great location and value. Limited parking but it wasn’t a problem while we were there. Will definitely stay again.

The upgraded rooms are great. We had a very nice time and the location is very convenient with a very friendly staff onsite.

I know they are renovating the property and the ice machine is getting allot of use from guests and contractors it’s getting pretty worn.

It was clean enough and the location was great. Front staff was not there when I got there and I had to wait to check in which was an inconvenience.

I didn’t see that you MUST contact the motel 24 hrs before your reservation even though I HAD A RESERVATION; therefore our room was not ready by the 3pm check in time when we arrived. We were told we had to wait up to 40 minutes after for them to ready the room or we could take a room with smaller beds and no price adjustment. The desk clerk was not helpful nor did she seem to care. Fortunately while we were deciding what to do there was a shift change and Rebeca got us a room the size we paid for and was very friendly. And did advise us it was a handicapped room with a roll in shower. We didn’t realize that would be a problem until we showered and there was a river on the bathroom floor. It flooded both days that we used the shower. Mopping up the floor in a $200 room was not pleasant. The motel was very close to the beach which was great; however the room itself was old and in need of remodeling (see pics) . It was clear this motel was renovating some rooms, hopefully this one is next. It was very quiet which was a nice surprise. Overall I don’t think it was worth the price unless you are staying several nights and need beach access.

The location was amazing. Very short walk to the beach. We had a "bungalow" room which was very big with an awesome shower. We would definitely stay there again! We had absolutely no complaints about our stay.

We’ve been staying here for years and it was reasonably priced and clean. Beach is half a block away and the parking is included in the price. We stayed here this week and it is no longer reasonable price wise and they were renovating the property so there was not ample parking and it was noisy because of renovations. The property is worn down so it needs renovation but our room was small and run down and not reasonably priced so I will be looking elsewhere when I visit relatives in San Diego.
