Residence Inn San Diego Del Mar

Exceptional

The rooms and bathrooms were very nice and clean; breakfast was nice too. The only thing was there was no extras, just the basics, which worked well for my Dad and I or if we came with our adult kids; but no trash cans in the kitchen or shared space area only in the bathrooms that was our only "complaint" which wasn't really a complaint. Otherwise, it was very nice stay and we would stay there again for sure!

I selected this hotel for the nostalgia of having it be my 'home' for 13 months while on an assignment. The staff has changed and the new staff were polite and helpful. They smiled. I miss the prior staff that took interest in your stay. The manager was out and meeting people as they checked in, making sure they had everything they needed. They no longer had the social time in the evening and that was a big miss. I had a great stay. No serious complaints at all, however, I no longer need to stay here. It just wasn't the same.

Great location. Nearby to coffee, restaurants, shopping, and could get to Del Mar and the beach easily. Really nice breakfast. The rooms are sized well. Had an issue with a Marriot Bonvoy Gift Card when checking out. It was unclear whether or not the card could be used for charges. The person helping me at the desk was relentless in pursuing the resolution which turned out great! Everything was taken care of which left us with a great closure to our trip. Would highly recommend. We will be back.

The bed was super uncomfortable. It offered no support and my back was aching all day.

Very good

The rooms are small. The sofa bed is so incredibly old and uncomfortable to sit on and the mattress is an old worn out spring filled 4” item that should be at a landfill. All of the furniture is worn out. Like what you would see with a “Free” sign in the street in front of someone’s house. There is an inordinate amount of noises around the property all night. Trucks, boilers (fans?), landscape equipment at 7:00am, etc. I counted on having two beds and ended up having to share the normal bed with my brother for one night. Parking is $30/night!!! Unreal. It’s not even in a desirable location other than being in Del Mar proper. For the price, it was in poor shape.~$250 The only saving grace is the front desk let us check out after the first of our 4 night stay without a penalty.

Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. The $30 a night parking charge was a frustration and surprise though. Didn't notice that anywhere on the location description or reservation. Oh well...

Other than wishing breakfast went until 10 and smoking area being designated to the pet area this hotel wonderful.

Paying $30/day for parking is crazy behavior, but otherwise it was great.

So place is great location staff is amazing overall stay was great but I had a couple of issue since checking in but hey we're resolved and taken care of quickly staff very attentive to make it right.

This property is far superior to most Residence Inn sites. It looks like it was previously a mid to high end property. I think it may even be better than it's sister property, Marriott, across the street; it also has better amenities, like free breakfast and cheaper parking fees.
