TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Diego Downtown

My friends and I booked here for the weekend. We loved how fast the staff emailed back to us about early check-in and how friendly they were with us when we arrived. The building was also well maintained.

A great hotel for reasonable rate and good amenities.

Great hotel, I was happy with service and specially the rooms. Location is minutes away from all night life, attractions and good restaurants.

The free breakfast was better than most 3 star US hotels, the hot options seemed to change everyday The hotel location is an easy walk to Little Italy, or into the CBD to get a bus or trolley. We got the bus to the Zoo. You can technically walk to the Zoo/Balboa Park, but its not a nice walk. The laundry is $3.50 to wash and $3.00 to dry but only accepts quarters. The hotel could not exchange notes for quarters. The local 7 Eleven reluctantly exchanged notes for quarters. The hotel really needs to keep a supply of quarters. The hotel sells detergent for $2.60 but we got it for $2.00, as they couldn't give us change. I blew the fuse in the bathroom by using the hotel hairdryer, probably due to the weak US power network.

Clean room and area

Just be careful if you drive a big vehicle the underground parking is very narrow and you have if you have a big truck you have to park in the front stalls that are bigger because you can’t negotiate the terms in the underground parking it’s only made for cars

Did not get the room we booked. Tv did not work. Staff was terrible.

Clean. Parking price per night is ridiculous.

Very noisy. Had trouble sleeping due to that. Construction next door started at 6:30 am.

Room was clean and efficiently equipped. Staff everywhere was all nice, polite and helpful especially at the breakfast kitchen. Breakfast offerings were okay.

Self parking was in cellar and very challenging. Not worth for the money being paid.

We didn’t stay here after we booked it. Drove to check in. Didn’t feel like it was a safe area. Downtown area is sketchy at night.

Location for my run, it was walking distance. Clean room, breakfast was delicious, and staff were very helpful.
