Staff were lovely, and in a great location

The scenery around the hostel was really nice No curtains on the beds, would be nice to have a little privacy

The location is just simply unbelievable.. The golden gate is a hike away.. Fisherman's Wharf just ten minutes.. And most of all In n Out just a corner away.. The beds were extremely uncomfortable.. Very soft sponge that concaves in, so the only position one can sleep in is on back.. No outlet next to each bed.. Just those on the bottom.. No individual bed light..

The location is super nice and fun to walk around nearby because it has a perfect view of the golden gate bridge and alcatraz. If you want to get touched by a ghost stay here!! The energy in this hostel is crazy because it is 100% haunted. My friends and I were joking about it all night because of all of the history that took place there but I never expected to actually experience anything. I am not one to believe in ghosts but after this now I do. I had a "dream" that I woke up and there was a girl sitting criss cross on my bunk bed smiling and talking to me asking to "use my eyes to see". I thought it was my friend I was traveling with because it looked so real and I could only see her silhouette. I closed and opened my eyes again and she was gone and replaced by a different "being" that was holding me down and sitting next to me on my bed. I thought that it was a homeless person trying to grab my camera that I had next to me in my bed. I realized it was sleep paralysis when I couldn't move and tried to relax. I have never experienced sleep paralysis before so this was strange that it happened here out of all places. I was very spooked but assumed it was just a coincidence until reading other reviews from other backpackers and even down to my very same experience. Another hosteler left a review about the same girl sitting on their bed in the bunk facing the golden gate bridge; and that is exactly where I was sleeping.

It was a very well located hostel and it was super easy to get everywhere in the city using the public transport

It was nice, as a solo female traveler I felt vary safe with the security measures they had in place. I stayed in a girl only dorm, the girls in there were kind and quiet (I know that may not always be the case) they’re was a charging area for phones and private storage area under the beds. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn’t have any problems or issues.

Kind, friendly and helpful staff, very nice view of Golden Gate Bridge and the bay, clean place, spacious kitchen, and nice picnic tables for morning coffee and and watching the beautiful sunset:) The hostel is just a 7 or 8 minutes walking distance to the #8, #30 and #49 bus station, to go to San Francisco downtown, oFisherman's Wharf, or Sausalito.
