Great place. Easy access to everything.

Clean room, nice large room, great parking lot. On a bus route. We like the updated decor and the large tiled shower. Quiet at night. Beds were too firm, but overall would recommend for a quick stay.

The Star Motel is great choice for travelers on a budget. The motel is clean and in a safe neighborhood of San Francisco. Great choice for a traveler with a car as the parking is included in your stay! Only thing to call out is if you are an extremely light sleeper this motel is on a main road in San Francisco. It personally did not bother me but I feel it’s important to note!

The staff was pleasant, the parking was easy. Such a cute place and well maintained! The only thing I would add is blackout curtains because the shutters still let light in. We would definitely stay here again!

This is a great property with a pretty central location. By car, you're 10 - 15 min to downtown, Chinatown, North Beach & SOMA on one side and about 10 minutes to the de Young museum in GG Park. The marina is close by and so is Ghiradelli Square. One block away is Chestnut St where you can find restaurants, bars and shops. The decor is modern and fun. It looks like it was recently redone. Parking, and that's a big + in the city, is onsite and included. The man at the front desk was wonderful and the property was spotless. I will say that Lombard is a busy street, but I heard nothing from my room and I was more towards the front. I'll stay here again!

The original booking had mentioned a continental breakfast, however there was none provided. Overall, it was a decent experience.

Need more room in bathroom for my bathroom belongings. Maybe a shelf or two.

Beds were comfortable and rooms clean. Just left off a star because prices are a little high for being a motel on busy Lombard street.

Great place, modern, only a block from the hop on- hop off bus.

The staff could not have been more accommodating! The property was very clean and updated. It was in the most perfect location for seeing all of San Francisco! Free parking was key as well!

Minuses are we paid for a Double King room and were offered a dark first floor room directly facing Lombard Street. Not only was it loud, it felt exposed, unable to open windows, and the layout was completely different than any of the website pictures. We opted to take a Double Queen room instead and there was no compensation for the lower priced room. We requested housekeeping on the 2nd day of our 2 night stay and they basically gave us new towels. The beds remained unmade and there was no cleaning done. At this rate I would expect better service. I would also recommend that room 118 (King double) never be booked or offered to people as it’s really not an acceptable room.

Excellent value, location and the condition of the property was superb. Would absolutely stay here again whenever in SF. 10/10!!

Having visited San Francisco many times, I believe Star Motel offers the best value for the money. The location is perfect for walking to the ocean and nearby restaurants. Multiple bus stops make it convenient for those who prefer public transit. There were no hidden fees, and the free, secured parking is a rare find in the city. We were allowed to check in two hours early which was much appreciated. The traffic noise was annoying at night, however, it did not keep us up. The towels were clean but in poor condition. That is actually my only significant complaint, the thin, overused towels we had. Housekeeping skipped our room, but the office promptly corrected this once notified.

The Star Motel was a perfect choice for our trip to San Francisco. It was clean, cute, conveniently located for public transportation and for walking to big name locations. Having a free parking spot with our stay was also a life saver! The only negatives I would say is they did not have water in the lobby or ice machine room to fill up water bottles, though they did have a fabulous coffee maker! And there was a faint strange rattling sound from the corner of the room, but it really wasn't that bad. Overall we plan to stay here again in the future!

Simple basic hotel, in a good location with well equipped rooms. Easy to park and navigate San Francisco from by car, public transport or walking.

Convenient location. Clean room. We stayed in the family suite and it had plenty of room for our large family. A little noisy when morning commute started but we were up early to ride the cable car. Some traffic noise in the morning.
