The Grove Inn

Cozy neighborhood boutique room with great location. No amenities outside the room. Feels more like a bed and breakfast. Room was very comfortable I would recommend for a short stay.

One of my favorite places to stay when I visit the city. Close to USF and Golden Gate Park. Not a full service hotel, just a great clean comfortable room in a neighborhood setting.

Parking is difficult and rooms are in a loud busy section of San Francisco near a bus stop. Bring ear plugs you like to sleep (probably this way in most of the city).

The place is well located, nice enough room. Don’t place the glass water bottle in the mini fridge, it was way too cold and made a mess!

Lovely place, great location!

There are delicious and enjoyable shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and activities nearby including Fillmore Jazz Distric and Japantown (among others). There are a handful of beautiful parks with stunning views only a short distance away. Street parking is available, but can be tough to find and has restrictions during the week (but we are familiar with SF so were prepared). The rooms were very clean and the hotel was quiet and quaint. If I ever come back for a stay, I will hands down stay here again.

The place is fine, but it started to get noisy about 6:30am.

Outstanding communications especially since there were multiple flight delays involved. Excellent check-in process since we had to check-in way after hours. Provided us information for a convenient parking deck.

Great place to stay

A fantastic location - within easy reach of the Hayes Valley restaurants, Haight-Ashbury and, on Fourth of July weekend, the brilliant Filimore Jazz Festival. It was a real treat to stay in what felt like an authentic neighbourhood in this beautiful Victorian building.

My room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was very quiet in my room. The carpeting in the hotel was a bit worn. The reception area was locked from 5 PM - 9 AM, so the only area a guest could be was in their room. While the room was nice, it wasn't a place to hang out once you were ready to get on with the day.

Great little place for an SF stay. Location was perfect for us. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Not staffed at night but that wasn’t a problem for us. Will stay again!

The room is basic but clean and a good size for SF. The staff was very nice and welcoming.

I wouldn’t call this place a hotel. It’s a big house that turned into a guest house. Room was really small. Reception working only 9-5. Parking outside is impossible. I wouldn’t recommend at all. Very disappointing.

This place is well kept but it’s so so so loud bc of street traffic and it being at a bus stop — the buses talk at each stop for blind riders. There is no in room AC — there are no vents and they simply give you a fan. And you need to keep the windows open. What a total rip off. False advertising about it having AC — which is why I booked it. $600 a night for an old, tiny (but clean) room with no AC and a bathroom the size of a powder room. Thankfully my husband and I are thin or else we would not have fit into the shower!

The location was nice - quiet but still close to food and sights. The room itself was quite basic. Comfortable but small; nothing to write home about. No elevator (but they did have a luggage elevator). The staff was friendly and welcoming.
