Hotel Calle Joaquin

The beds were comfortable. The room was musty and smelled like urine. The room was clean and fridge was leaking with a towel under it. There was a noise outside the sliding door that sounded like a plastic tarp flapping. Won’t stay here again. Last minute booking I guess. Wife was not happy with the room. She did like the big mirror with the light.

Very clean, quiet and comfortable beds

Enjoyed the hot tub & pool. Cheaper than nearby hotels Didn’t have toiletries in the room, but got some from front desk

It looked nicer in the pictures. We had constant issues with the key card to enter the hotel. It kept being de magnetized. I had to get 3 different cards and had to go the lobby each time, when the stuff finally told me it can’t be near cell phones that would have been helpful to know from the beginning. The hot tub and pool are were nice but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. The beds were very hard and the tv only had basic cable, there was nothing to watch so that was bummer. We were looking forward to watching a movie at the end of the night but we all just stared at our phones instead. I would rate it a 2/10.

Exceptional

We used this as a stop on the roadtrip from SF to LA. Confort and calm place. Near the main utilities needed for a road trip (gas station and supermarket).

NOTHING The place was extremely false advertisement. The pictures are nothing like the experience. It was very run down and gross. Worst part is we got bed bugs. My little babies were up all night as we felt things crawling on us all night. I am so disgusted and annoyed about this stay. I’ve never had a worse experience.

Staff was friendly, good Parking and room was clean.

Stay met expectation. Baits schedule, so we didn’t spend much time at the hotel. Looks like the hotel is in a state of transition as you are greeted with a banner upon entry of “under new management.” The front desk woman was very friendly and made conversation. The pool looked amazing, although didn’t have an enough to enjoy it.

The staff was friendly and helpful The locks on the room and the hotel doors didn't work. Homeless people.bathibg in the hot tub. Homeless people sleeping outside the room on the patio area. Tub leaked all over the floor. Toilet was installed sideways. Very old damaged unclean furniture. Was not safe

Good, clean, quiet hotel for the price. Just know they don’t have an elevator.

Much better than all the other hotels in its price range. San Luis Obispo is extremely overpriced in most of their hotels.

Superb

Dated hotel with sparce accommodations Bathroom is unsafe, the water control make it hard to shower with ease. Floor gets flooded, bath amenities were not acceptable. Real soap, change carpet, put safety bars on shower walls

The hotel looked much better in the photos than it did in person. The property is old, dated, and poorly maintained. Our bathroom fixtures were rusted, and the AC, TV, and telephone were not working properly. The worst issue was an extremely strong bleach/chemical smell in our room that made me cough. Staff acknowledged that the rooms are cleaned with bleach, but would not move us to another room or refund us so we could stay elsewhere. We felt stuck there for three nights. The staff was also very unhelpful. We encountered two different employees and neither seemed willing to assist with our concerns. They even refused to hold our luggage for a few hours before a tour because they said they “don’t do that.” Even the basic toiletries were extremely limited, and the overall property and common areas felt neglected. The pool/spa area was probably one of the better parts of the hotel. For the price, this was extremely disappointing. The online pictures were very deceiving compared with what we actually found when we arrived. My son even said he would have preferred staying at the Motel 6 next door. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again.

If you're looking for a good night's rest on a budget, this is the place. Nothing fancy, a little old, but the clean bedding, pillows, and towels were nice and of excellent quality.
