Hotel reaked of Pot. Was hot and muggy in the lobby and hall ways. Handicap room was the furthest room from the entrance making for the furthest walk to carry in items. Bedding had period stains on it, and the bathroom/shower area was not very clean. Finger prints left on all the bed/night stands. TV didnt work, phone was not working in the room. The back/side entrance was a narrow alleyway that was behind a dumpster making it where you could even see the parking lot. Not a safe exit to use at night which was dumb because that's where they decided to put the handicapped rooms also. Just felt and smelled dirty and like a Marijuana party at this hotel. Would never stay here again. We didn't even stay the 2nd night, we left the next day even tho we had paid for two nights. 0 out of 10 stars. Would NOT recommend. Location was great, everything else about it was NOT good.

The room was very clean and they came every day to give new towels and empty the trash. The property is small but very quiet and close to everything.

My biggest issue with our stay was the noise. We were using the refrigerator, but it would make noise throughout the night. We would unplug it, but we needed to keep it on to keep food from going bad. The worst was the noise from people staying in the room right next to us. The walls and the connecting door do not dampen the sound and provide no privacy. The other room would have their TV on very loud, and they would talk loudly and make noises during what we assume was sexual activity. The provided breakfast was not stocked well to satisfy our hunger through a restless night of not being able to sleep well.

Location is convenient and front desk member was nice. At first there’s a sense of general cleanliness but also this “we’re cheap because we gave up” like bare minimum is ok because location keeps guest coming. My biggest issue is that this property doesn't have an ELEVATOR. When I was told this I wanted to run for the hills but I’m a mom (w/disabilities) traveling with my daughter who has special needs. This major point of no elevator was not displayed or communicated or expressed in any point in my booking process with booking.com. I have worked in hospitality for a decade plus and extensively interacted with numerous 3rd party booking sites and this (no elevator) issue can be handled in a much better way so it is clear to the guest before booking. This fact has major repercussions and it’s deceitful for it to not be clearly and explicitly advertised. I’m disabled with Lupus and spine, joint, arthritic issues that I battle everyday. I don’t have a wheelchair or cane but I’m suffering especially at the end of the day while traveling—with my 6 year old and I learn I must haul everything up stairs myself. Otherwise I would’ve demanded a refund and ran for the hills. As for the room (2 queen) the pillows are hard and barely 3" in width. The bathroom is rundown with ghost markings on tile where the soap holder & handle used to be and NO HAND SOAP or hand towels or tissue or any kind of toiletries provided. The towels are barely absorbent with their age and the general message is “we’re stingy and don’t really care that you’re our guest.” The TV is old and most channels don't work & that's if you can get the remote in just the right place to change channel or adjust volume. There aren't enough plugs generally but especially by the bedside; built-in USB/USBC ports are the norm nowadays. As a former employee at San Marcos Hampton Inn for 8 years--ppl get desperate because this area gets. Politely sold out from Austin to San Antonio so by doing just enough, you can likely have a steady number of guests. I feel tricked. Even the fridge is pretty busted and there’s tape on the hutch that houses fridge and microwave.
