Hampton Inn Santa Cruz West, CA

Superb

Breakfast

Comfortable, clean and good breakfast, just noisy from busy Mission Street

A wonderful hotel with the nicest staff we have ever met! The location is great, walkable to the beach and many food options! The staff were wonderful and very kind to give us food recommendations!

The room was nice but the road noise was very loud. Check in was kind of annoying in that my vehicle license plate number was required to get a parking pass so that meant walking out once to get my plate number then a second time to put the pass in my car. The breakfast was ok too but cold cereal and yogurts would have been a nice addition.

Great location, comfy bed, great breakfast spread and amenities, free parking. Go Slugs!

This Hampton inn punches above its weight. Great front desk staff on check in helped me get the room I requested. Hotel is spotless. Room was great. Good facilities at the gym. Water filling station and 24 hr coffee downstairs. Way better than expected all around. I’d definitely stay here again.

Very clean and up to date Hampton Inn. Staff was polite and attentive,

The rooms that front the road are very loud-did not get much sleep. Asked to change rooms as we had requested a quiet room initially but they wanted to up charge. Ironic the staff told me this while standing in front of of 100% satisfaction guarantee

Super friendly front desk staff, nice hotel and as always great breakfast

Housekeeping staff were friendly and all said Good Morning when I saw them. Having a hot breakfast to start the day was nice. Free parking was a nice to have which is something I always look for when staying at a hotel.

Exceptional

Newish, and well located. A bit noisy.

The hotel was clean and pretty quiet. The front desk was kind and professional. The breakfast was super delicious and had a lot of variety! The crew was on top of cleaning the areas and refilling the food items as they dwindled. The only thing I’d say was negative was there were some construction trucks there…possibly guests at the hotel, and their truck’s backup beeping started early in the mornings. Also, the bathroom didn’t seem to have a vent and when we entered our room for the first time it smelled like someone dropped a number 2 before they checked out. Other than that, our 2 night stay was great.

My family if 4 plus our dog stayed here one night. It was clean, nice staff and had everything we needed while passing through for the night.

My room was covered in hair. The shower was also covered in hair, had black foot marks on the floor and shower head was disgusting. Its smelt horrible, wall paper in bathroom was peeling all the way up the wall. The cushions in the breakfast area were disgusting and stained. The supervisor wouldnt help or let us cancel the room. For $500 a night i except more. I will never get a room here again.

Nice new hotel west of the more touristy Boardwalk area and close to the campus. We walked a few blocks to a brewery for an early evening drink and dinner. Overall it's in a quiet area with houses behind the property but still on a main street. They have several EV chargers available which made it very convenient to charge the car overnight. Some traffic noise was noticeable as we settled in for the night but it dissipated by 10pm. Also few dining options were open after 8pm that night. Parking is a bit tight so you don't want to arrive too late and not find a spot.
