Ocean Echo Inn and Beach Cottages

Overall, I don’t think the quality of the hotel lived up to the price. Considering how much wear and tear there was in our room (split fabric on the couch, broken lights on the stairs) and no a/c which made it pretty stuffy inside during the summer, I think a price point of around $250/night would have been more reasonable. The continental breakfast in the morning was hit or miss. Bagels were stale one day, okay the next. One day there was hot water for tea, the next there wasn’t. The beach closest to the hotel is very small and we only walked down there once. It has kind of a dirty, seedy feel. However, there are nice beaches a short walk in either direction a few blocks away. The small kitchen was nice to have but we didn’t cook much. If you’re planning on cooking a lot, having the kitchen might be worth it. The pros included the communal patio, which we had to ourselves on a couple mornings and one afternoon. There’s a nice little view of the water from the deck, and we enjoyed relaxing with our coffee there in the morning or while taking a break in the afternoon. We had a good time, but I expected the hotel to be in better condition after looking at the pictures, and I think for the price we paid, I’d probably look for a different hotel next time.

Be prepared for noisy neighbors and lukewarm showers. I’m not sure if it was only our cottage, but we had bright lights outside our windows throughout the night. I’m sure it’s for safety but not very pleasant. My husband and I felt like it was similar to summer camp environment.

We were very pleased with our stay and enjoyed the unexpected distant view of the beach from our window! Our only disappointment is the inaccessibility to the beach.

There were a few drawbacks. Our cottage was located up quite a few stairs, which made carrying luggage and navigating with children a bit challenging. The breakfast options were fairly limited, and the parking spaces were quite tight. Families with young children should also note that our bathroom did not have a bathtub, which made bath time a little more difficult. While the hotel is on the pricier side, the overall experience, cleanliness, comfort, and location helped justify the cost. With a few minor improvements, it would be even better. Overall rating: 8.5/10.

I had a lovely 2 nights for a short getaway from regular life. The cottages were as described & perfect for me. Very clean property and helpful staff. Bonus grab & go breakfast! I very much enjoyed the quiet beach at the end of the path from the hotel. Hidden gem!

The location was perfect walking distance to the beach and not overly crowded. Beautiful view

Our unit didn't have a smoke detector, one kitchen cabinet door wouldn't close and the toilet seat was not the right fit/shape - oval seat place on a round toilet bowl. There was a veryy partial ocean view from one of the windows. Parking was tricky. Pet friendly though and comfortable bed.

Ocean view from the deck was awesome. Bed was comfortable & was very quiet. Beach was a block away Shower was nice, but could have had more water pressure. No other issues

The location was perfect. Felt like you had your own little beach oasis. The set up outside is wonderful. I will be returning to stay with family. I probably had the worse room on the property but only two rooms were available at the time of my booking. I was traveling solo so the room was fine but the pictures on booking.com were deceiving. Parking was not the best.

Charming in every way

This Inn was perfect! It had access to a beach however we were not able to enjoy it due to a rain storm the night of our stay. We did however walk over after checkout after the rain finally stopped and it was quite nice and private. I was surprised how exceptionally clean our room was. Immaculate- more than 5 star rated hotels (and we travel a lot!). The room was cozy. The bed was comfortable however the pillows can use an upgrade for comfort. We stayed in room 7. The walls were a little thin but I find that common everywhere now so that didn’t really bother us since our neighbors were rather quiet and respectful. Monica greeted me upon check in with a beautiful smile. She was so attentive and gave me a tour around the property. She asked if we were celebrating anything special and I shared we in fact were celebrating our 28th anniversary. She was so kind to leave some cut flowers in a vase outside our door. The grab and go breakfast was great. There was fresh fruit, chobaniI yogurt and croissants among at other goodies. We will definitely return. The area felt safe and secure. It was wonderful!!

Good location -Our upstairs room did not have a bathroom so we had to go downstairs every time. Coffee maker did not have a long enough plug to plug in the wall, so we had to move it to on top of refrigerator to plug in and make it work. - toilet was leaking and would make loud noise once in a while.

Staff are very accommodating and nice. We checked in after hours and they made sure we could get in our cottage with no problems. Very close to the beach. Clean room but need to upgrade cooking wares. Our family enjoyed the place and very close to boardwalk and restaurants.
