Best Western Plus Capitola By-the-sea Inn & Suites

Located close enough for a short drive or a vigorous walk to and from the esplanade -- my wife and I (mid 60s) walked it 4 times in 3 days. Amenities include a nice outdoor pool and spa (which I visited every evening, using pool towels offered by the front desk). There is a larger than normal and excercize room and a guest laundry available. And a much nicer breakfast than typical, with greater selection and a bit of variation from day to day. In total my wife and I were very pleased with our choice, and expect we will stay here again when we return to Capitola in the future.

The towels were quite rough and there was minor cleanliness issues in our room just some crumbs by the bed before we got there, some rust in the bathroom. Also the sink faucets are just super close to the counter but not really something you can help I guess. Overall we love best western and will always stay here!

The room was typical for booking through Expedia. We were given the room that had a very loud whistling problem every time the toilet was flushed and the bathroom needed a thorough cleaning of the the mold on the ceiling above the bathtub/shower. A little outdated. On the plus side: lighting in the room was excellent, breakfast was great and with longer hours for us late morning people. Check out noon rather than 10 or 11 was a perk too. Gym, pool and jacuzzi were appreciated by my teenager. Plenty of places nearby to eat though mostly fast, diners or pizza but you can take a stroll down to the Capitola Village at the Beach and find restaurants there along with the wharf and on Wednesdays in the summer they have a concert in the park there on the beach from 6-8/9 pm with a lot of boutique shops along the beach. Nice area to stay.

Made our Family trip a breeze! Didn’t have to worry about anything within the stay. Staff is friendly, waffles were delicious.

Very clean and nice property. Great breakfast as well as the coffee maker in the lobby. Enjoyed the free cookies every evening. Great to have free parking and Internet. Our room had a fireplace that didn’t work on arrival. The Internet was also kit connected to our TV on arrival (so we had to watch regular TV with commercials…). They fixed both after the first two nights of our stay. They did refund us a credit for our inconvenience. Nice staff!

This was a great hotel for a quick 2 night stay for my family and two kids. They loved the pool and spa and we all enjoyed the hot breakfast! Room was clean and staff was friendly. We would definitely stay here again!

The layout was nice with staggered room entrances made the rooms feel more custom and less cookie cutter. Room was roomy and large bathroom. Very quiet too Nice swimming pool
