I will definitely stay there next time I need lodging in the Santa Cruz area.

Very kind staff! Had a change of plans due to travel time and they let me check in early to put my stuff down and be able to rest/wash up 😭

The room was nice and the location was good There was no staff basically on site. You had to fend for yourself.

Free parking, free refreshments in lobby, clean room, great smelling toiletries. Walking distance to beach and boardwalk, would definitely stay again.

The cheap price The host smelled really bad…the no host evenings and broken entry box left 6 guests stranded out front at 11:30pm. The coffee bar was not stocked and no guest on property had caffeinated coffee only decaf available . The room was so small my husband kept hitting his head on the tv screen edge which was hung in the only floor space next to bed. The parking was so cramped that I could not get my car by the huge hummer that was overflowing the tight space making it very dangerous to enter and exit the narrow steep ramp to and from parking. The toilet seat was broken. The fireplace in room did not work. The bed was like a marshmallow and so soft that I woke with a migraine. Zero support. The shotty cabinets under sink were stuck and very difficult to open and close and I almost could not retrieve my belongings Never again.

Not what was expected. Location was 2 renovated homes and a little difficult to find. Bedding and bathroom were neat and clean but rug seemed dirty and the fabric on chair had a large stain. We had to call staff to announce our arrival and check out the next morning only required a signature on rooms list.

Super cute Victorian house. Only downside, no elevator but we still chose the top floor for privacy and large windows. Clean, free drinks, and quiet. Very cozy

When I went to check in, there was no one at the front desk, and two people getting it on in the common area. I did not feel comfortable staying here and they refused to give me a full refund. Place seemed dirty

Great location to the beach! The room and house itself were nice and clean. There was free water, pop, and snacks for guests which was nice. I didn’t have an issue but I could see if you’re claustrophobic or a bigger human the bathroom may not be ideal for you.

The location is excellent! I wish we had more time to explore the area. I loved the idea of being in a Victorian home and our attic rom was spacious. The room and lobby amenities were stocked and a nice sitting area is downstairs for reading. there's a nice glass cabinet with relics from the past. The hosts provide a list of restaurants to visit, but it needs updating as a few of them have closed permanently. The outdoor seating is lovely, but it could be cleaned up a bit.

Proximity walking distance to downtown and wharf. It has charm and the hosts are very sweet and accommodating. No complaints

I needed a place to stay for a live music event and this was the cheapest option, $300 wasted. The property feels like a hostel. It is run down and not worth the price. I was asked to move to another parking lot and when i tried, the other parking lot is so tight and cramped, I scraped my car on the walled driveway so I moved back to my original spot. The room was rundown, the pillows were lumpy, the bedding was gross polyester. I could not sleep due to the discomfort. There is no way to lock the room from the inside. Which feels unsafe for a woman traveling alone because you are given a number code to enter the building and your room. I know it must change everytime there is a new guest but to not have any other lock made me super uncomfortable that someone could access my room in the middle of the night if they had the passcode. Both parking lots are tight and cramped. Yes you can walk to the boardwalk but the resort fee was pure usury. There is no pool or any reason to use the property. Maybe that is how they provide free parking. I nwould not recommend this. They took a beautiful old inn and made it feel scary and cheap.

This was previously a mansion that was turned into a hotel. It's a unique place that has separate buildings and multiple rooms in each building that share a common area. The price was a little high, but overall my partner and I were pleased with our stay at the Rio Vista Inn. The driveway to get into one of the parking lots was super tight and narrow, but we were able to successfully navigate it without scratching the car.

We stayed one night and actually own a luxury resort ourselves. Have to say this property is beyond exceptional. Everything was perfect, and frankly cheaper than our place. Ten stars out of five.
