Las Palomas

We were looking forward to our 3 day visit to Las Palomas. The staff is amazing and super helpful! Always smiling and friendly. We were "upgraded" to a room with an extra bedroom but it had soiled carpet on the stairs up to the room and really needed some TLC. It also had a musty smell. I was told these are very old structures and some may find this charming, but it wasn't for us at these prices. They were extremely accomodating and moved us to a much nicer room. However, this room too could use some TLC with some of the plastic hanging blinds missing, a room phone that was non-functional, and just could use a makeover. Additionally, room cleanings are scheduled only every other day, which we were unaware of until the second day when we returned to our room the way we left it that morning. Maybe I missed that somewhere upon checkin but the room was serviced the next morning. On the positive side, the included breakfast was amazing!! 6 different options to choose from and a very lovely dining room. The grounds of the hotel are sprawling with many other courtyards to sit and enjoy. And the location is fantastic. Away from the main square but close enough to walk. I would recommend Las Palomas but expect an older more charming experience, rather than a more modern one.

Great breakfast. Good location. But essentially a poorly maintained facility.

We were a little disappointed when we arrived and received a different room than the one we booked. Some of the rooms are historic and some were built in the 90s and have not been kept up so they're not in the best condition. However they did move us to a slightly nicer room. Breakfast was great. Overall a good location but San Francisco street can get noisy at night, so if your noise sensitive you might not want a room on the street. Otherwise the service was fantastic and the property is very convenient to everything Santa Fe has to offer.

Fireplaces are just metal fireplaces, some rooms have no phone, regulating the heat and AC are a challenge, too many stairs and streets to cross to get to rooms, front desk is hard to call, many gates to go through.

Unique facility, great staff.

Despite my comments I would stay again! I think a bit better maintenance is needed.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Room was very comfortable and the position of the hotel was excellent on a quiet street but within easy walking distance of the plaza and other attractions Nothing

Clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff are amazing. This is the perfect boutique hotel.

Location was great. Room 32 had maintenance issues such as two burned out lights in the bathroom. Additionally, water puddled on the living room floor from rain.

Great room, cozy and authentic. Staff was great, breakfast was 10/10. Good value for money, awesome location walking distance from downtown. Really no downsides

Staff at breakfast were most helpful and efficient. Room was not maintained at all. A light bulb was out in the bathroom, floor was lifted a bit so you can hear the squeak sounds above your floor and our room also. Finally a surprise charge called historical preservation charges of $20.56 which totaled for us additional $82.24 for 4 nights! We would never go back to this lodge.

Clean room

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly, the hotel is in a great location, and the breakfast was great every morning. We also appreciated the free and clean laundry facility. As other reviews have noted, the room was a little run down and didn't match the photos, which, I guess, are of higher priced/renovated rooms. The linens were clean but the room could've used a deep cleaning and had some maintenance issues, especially in the bathroom (broken towel hook, cracked counter top, floor grout was filthy). It was frustrating none of the windows in the room could be opened to let in fresh air.

This property was in a great location, walking distance about 2-3 blocks from the Plaza and about 3 small blocks from the 25. Great price, comfortable room. We were in a room that wasn't connected to any other room. Noise was non-existence from the neighboring rooms, this was a plus for me. Staff was friendly and helpful! Nothing comes to mind except the bathroom door stuck on occasion. Otherwise we had no complaints.

Loved the bed! Slept great every night. The breakfast was outstanding—-not a buffet. Cooked to your liking. Many options all included with stay. Sprung a few leaks in the ceiling from the monsoons but took immediate care to make sure everyone was safe and aware. Location was fantastic and the atmosphere was very Southwest and unique just like Santa Fe itself!

Room was super clean. The gentleman at the desk was very nice and very helpful. We loved the mini-kitchen with fridge, sink and microwave. It was nice to be able to open the windows for the fresh air. We'd definitely return.

The property was super unique, which I loved. I think it could use a few items, like pillows on the sofa, a rug at the front door and more spots to put luggage. There was a storm while there and we tramped in leaves, maybe a broom? Breakfast was amazing! Many options available so home cooked and hot! I would stay there again but think it could be made a bit more comfortable.

Las Palomas offers a diversity of lodgings in several compounds and has a welcoming central breakfast / guest lounge area and patio open to all guests. Many buildings are historic adobes and lively art decorates the grounds. Quiet, intimate rooms with traditional northen New Mexico features. Staff and owners are welcoming and easily available. Offstreet parking a bonus. Easily walkable into the main Plaza area. Hot breakfast service included to start your day. Felt very safe as a solo traveler.
