love the location and the overall ambience of the hotel and the rooftop pool. ..disappointed in the room this stay. Shower had grungy mold on the entire base of the shower stall and normally there are 2 bath/spa robes in our room in past visits. Nothing this time. Why? Also, the entire pool deck was not very well attended to ...many lounge chairs had used towels on them and no attendant to keep it tidy and usable for guests. Sloppy and unkept.

Property is old and in poor condition - walls scuffed, carpets dirty, furniture terribly worn out. The floor of the room was pretty filthy. The pullout couch was not prepared by housekeeping and we had to do it ourselves - the mattress was disgusting. Really off-putting, to think one of us had to sleep on that. Bathroom was fine, linens were nice, but that rest.... all I can say is, thank God we only had to stay there one night.

The staff at the El Dorado are amazing. They directed us to a good mechanic as our truck was breaking down upon arrival and were genuinely concerned for us. The pool staff and bar staff were awesome too.

Seems to be a problem at all the Heritage Hotel properties we have stayed at in New Mexico.

The staff at this hotel was phenomenal. All staff were friendly, helpful, and seemed to be very happy at their jobs.

WE HAD A GREAT VISIT AT THE EL DORADO AND IT WAS SO EASY TO WALK DOWNTOWN
-
We loved the hotel and pool area. We were able to swim all day and then go to the hot tubs after dinner. It was on a Tuesday and we had it to ourselves. The location is great for wandering around town. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Loved it and would definitely come back

Let me tell you, those negative reviews were all wrong. We could not say enough nice things about our stay at the Eldorado. We parked the car for 3 days and walked the city of Santa Fe. We really enjoyed the King room with patio and view of the pool area. These are the rooms to get - so nice to be so close to the pool and hot tubs. Room was beautiful and large and the bed/bedding was just fantastic. We really slept well every night. I highly recommend the Eldorado!

Overall it was a wonderful stay. The only thing I didn't like was that they said coffee would be served at 6am. It wasn't ready until 7am. There was a line of cranky people waiting at the door.

I would label this property as a Hotel 6. The rooms were spartan, and bore no resemblance to photos online. Some had no chairs. It took a half day to get the TV to work in our room and three calls to get bottled water. The dining room was a breakfast room. The carpets are stained. You could not count on the coffee service in early morning. Advertised as 6 to 10, it was not set up by 7 a.m. most days. A complete disappointment. Don't waste your money. This is NOT a luxury hotel.
