Gorgeous old house with real class and style…and right next to Forsyth Park….easy to walk into town. Nothing

We loved our stay at the Catherine Ward house and would totally come again! Beautiful house, very nice staff, lovely freshly cooked breakfasts. Great location too Bed was bit bouncy and the family who stayed on the same floor was very noisy, but that wasn't the hotels fault

It is a whole experience. Beautiful historic house. We felt like home. The location is quiet and a block away from Forsythe Park, with public transportation block and a half away. The Internet was a little slow, and the TV channel offer is quite basic.

The host is was very nice I was honestly very disappointed with breakfast as it’s one of the main reasons I chose that property. I’m a breakfast lover and everyone was raving about their breakfast. Well not my style at all… Also the mattress and pillows could be better

The breakfast was nicely presented but egg casserole was dry and asparagus undercooked. Rolls were delicious. Room was dated, one of the chairs had a broken arm rest, television was old and had a poor picture. The amenities in the room were poor. No lotion, soap bar was tiny, as were shampoo and conditioner. We did not like being out in the carriage house, as there was no coffee or tea provisions in the room. Location of the house was very good. Hostess was very nice. For more than $400 a night it was very bad value. Only two waters were provided and then you were asked to refill in the main house from a filtered water container. In the afternoon that container was empty. It was 90 degrees in Savannah we needed water! Provide at least a medium soap bar, some lotion and enough shampoo and conditioner for the two days we were there. The TV was very poor quality and old. For what was charged per night we expected much higher quality amenities.

Unfortunately, we did run into a couple of uncomfortable situations during our stay. On the first morning at breakfast, we found a hair in our food, which was disappointing. I also would have liked to see stronger food safety practices, such as staff wearing hair nets. On the second day, we returned to our room and noticed small bugs around the bathroom vanity that were jumping around. After doing some research, we found out they were harmless springtails, but it still left us feeling uncomfortable and uneasy during the rest of our stay. Unfortunately we ran into a few uncomfortable situations. Day one of breakfast we found a hair in our food. Would have liked to see the staff wear hair nets and on day two we came back to our room and found little bugs around the bathroom sink that jumped around. After more research we found out that they are harmless springtails. Still made me itch and feel uncomfortable. What made this experience more frustrating was the response from staff. I mentioned both concerns during checkout, hoping for a little empathy or acknowledgment. Instead, the response felt very neutral. I was simply told, “Oh, thank you, we’ll just pour some bleach down the drain.” There was no apology, no concern about our experience, and no effort to ask how they could make things right or offer any type of compensation. We left feeling like our concerns weren’t taken seriously. That said, we still made the best of our trip, and Savannah is a beautiful city to visit. However, for the price we paid, I believe there are better accommodations available that offer stronger cleanliness standards and better customer service.

The home itself was rich with history, class, and individuality. Separate from other lodges in the area, the Catherine Ward Inn offer personal hospitality and great comfort at an affordable price! The locate out is less than 5 minutes from River Street and allowed us to return to a beautiful room dressed in unique wallpapers, vintage furniture, and comfortable amenities. I’m disappointed that our stay here was so short, as I would have loved to get to know the staff more. I almost don’t want to recommend this place to others as to keep it a secret to myself! Nothing. The place was exactly what I look for in a stay away from home.

Such a beautiful property which was interestingly furnished with antiques relating to the period of the house. Nothing

Comfortable home like rooms that you can’t get in a hotel. Excellent location to walk the historic district or to get on the free bus service to the river area Nothing

Pristine clean room. Nicely decorated. Robes and small fridge. Other guests friendly. Great location. Nice small garden. Breakfast well thought out and beautifully presented. Our room was tiny and the bed was small compared to every other bed we have slept in across our south USA tour. There wasn’t any streaming service and a tiny tv positioned above the door frame. If Tv not you thing then it makes no difference. My husband didn’t care as he dislikes tv. Not a big fan of having breakfast with strangers and making chit chat first thing so would prefer either breakfast in our room ( no space) or on individual table. To be fair I missed breakfast time slot first day and my husband was able to bring me a coffee and mini bagel with jam to our small outside seating area. Which was accommodating. The aircon in our room had bright light showing temp next to the tv standby light. We managed to cover the lights with post its dnd clothing so we could get to sleep. I think if it had been half the price I would’ve said great value but at £383 a night it was expensive. As an example, for the less cost per night we are staying in Charleston on the waterfront with a jetty, a heated pool, a super king bed and room twice as big. Huge balcony watching dolphins. Our hosts greeting us with wine and beer. Maybe Savannah is just a super expensive place and space more limited.

Just about everything. While they did accommodate my vegan daughter, I would have preferred a choice on the regular breakfast menu.

Breakfast was always delicious; staff were extremely inviting and helpful. The room was light, bright and spacious. We did remove the foam mattress topper from our bed and then it was very comfortable! The staff was totally fine with that and very agreeable about helping us.

We loved our stay in Savannah. Our host were exceptional and the house was so beautiful and in a great location. We were in town for the Half marathon and because we couldn't make breakfast they had made us a runner breakfast and was in our fridg for race day. Thank you for being so thoughtful and making it feel like home. N/A
