Frequently asked questions
What should I compare when choosing team offsite hotels in Savannah?
Start with meeting space and guest-room capacity. The JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District offers about 18,000 square feet of event space across 6 meeting rooms, while The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa has 46 meeting rooms with about 4,000 square feet. Compare the number of breakout rooms you need, total event square footage for larger gatherings, and whether the property has enough guest rooms to house your entire group on-site.
How far in advance should I book hotel rooms for a company retreat in Savannah?
For a group of 10 or more, plan to book at least two to three months ahead, especially during spring and fall when Savannah sees higher demand. Larger groups may need more lead time to secure a block of rooms and meeting space. Booking early also gives you more flexibility to compare properties and lock in better rates.
What makes a hotel a good fit for an offsite or company retreat?
Look for a property with enough meeting rooms for your sessions and breakout space for smaller team discussions. Hotel Bardo Savannah, for example, offers about 15,000 square feet of event space across 5 meeting rooms. You also want enough guest rooms to house the team comfortably, plus on-site amenities like dining, fitness, and common areas where people can gather between sessions.
What's the best way to get my team to Savannah for an offsite?
Most groups fly into the airport serving Savannah, which is about 20 minutes from the downtown area where many offsite-friendly hotels are located. If you want to minimize ground transportation, you can filter for properties near the airport or arrange a shuttle. Once in town, many hotels are walkable to restaurants and meeting spaces, so the team can move around easily.
How do I book a block of rooms for my team on Engine?
If you need 8 guest rooms or fewer, you can search, compare, and book the rooms yourself directly on Engine. For a stay of 9 or more rooms, Engine Groups handles the room-block booking. You can also find and request meeting and event space through Engine Spaces, which connects you to venues across Savannah and helps you source the right setup for your offsite.
