The room was very clean and the staff were excellent. I loved the free water to go as the days were very hot. Each evening they had some type of entertainment for an hour just before dinnertime with free wine and snacks. We took advantage and were delighted. We would go back to the Marshall house. Only one thing I would add is to install magnifying mirror in the bathroom.

    Great place to stay.

Overall, a terrific historic hotel close to all attractions and restaurants. Get the 2nd floor room with the outdoor balcony.

This place gets an A+ for clean, quiet rooms, friendly, helpful staff and a perfect location! Even though it is right on the main street of the Historic District with shops, restaurants and bars all around it, it is well insulated from the nightlife noise. Considering the building is several hundred years old, it is in excellent shape and has been modernized and well maintained. They do serve a hot breakfast every day but if you are looking for gourmet, this is not your place. It was very hot when we were there and the common areas were well cooled but the room was not so cool. The wine and cheese happy hour with local entertainment was really nice but again, not gourmet.

    Great

  • Engine customer Aug 2026

Absolutely loved the historical aspects of the place. The cold crisp water provided was very refreshing every time we came back in from outside. The staff were all friendly, knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Our room was hot and smaller than I expected. Never really cooled down past 76 degrees. But it was quaint and at the end on the 4th floor like we wanted.

I loved the evening entertainment (harp player and historian), the staff, the history of the hotel, and the location. The overall charm of this historic hotel was wonderful; I will be returning again. The breakfast was not my favorite. The portion sizes were very large and the eggs (buffet line style) were overcooked and rubbery. The selection was very good and I would return and just not choose the eggs!

    Very good

An amazing experience. One of the best hotels we've ever been in. Lovely renovated rooms and lobby. There was free wine and cheese every evening with entertainment. Centrally located, walking distance from the river and other Savannah highlights.

    Very good

perfect location, the staff was incredibly helpful, the establishment is well kept with an old south feel, the rooms are clean and well equipped - the rooms with a balcony are really something else, totally worth the extra money the rooms facing the main street have one major disadvantage - they get noisy from the busy street; breakfasts are ok but nothing great
