Mimi at the front desk and the valet attendant that worked in the afternoon with the beard was excellent.

Great location everyone was kind and very helpful. Definitely will be back. Thank you.

1. What hotel advertises having a pool and then organizes for the pool to have its annual maintenance done during the hottest week of the year 2. The glass sliding door on the bath had tons of algae where the two glass panels met 3. One of the rooms we had booked, you could only shower, one couldn't get water to come out of the faucet.

The staff is excellent and could not have asked for a better stay.

We booked a poolside room a month in advance and weren’t told until we checked in that the pool was undergoing a major repair and would be out of commission for the entire duration of our stay. Feels like they should have given us notice about that ahead of time, we might have decided to stay somewhere else. That said, the staff was very kind and accommodating - they did upgrade our room and gave us vouchers for food and drink. The property itself has some wear and tear, but is still charming and the central location is ideal.

Specifically booked this hotel for the pool and the pool was of course closed for maintenance and this was not advertised on their website or on Expedia at all so I didn’t find out until arriving and then the property had no solutions. No partial refund which is extremely disappointing given it was 98 degrees with a heat index of 109 and I had planned to spend time at the pool.

The hotel is beautiful, however, I had tried to contact the concierge prior to our stay. There was no response to any voice or text messages for questions we had concerning our stay . They never informed us the pool was closed, which was our sole reason for choosing the DeSoto . The desk agents only refered us to the note in our room. I had spoken to an agent on the phone the night before our visit. She told me we could use the pool earlier than the 4:00 PM check-in time. We were not told the pool was already closed, and had been closed since the 12th. Worst of all, my wife e-mailed the hotel manager, who did not respond in any way. I had expected some sort of response, but did not get one from anyone there. Everyone was polite, but not willing to answer any questions.

The pool was also closed during our stay, which was never disclosed when we booked. That was especially frustrating because it was one of the amenities we expected to be able to use and factored into choosing this hotel. The hotel also only allows valet parking, no self parking which wouldn’t be a problem except the valet seems to be understaffed- there were multiple times when there was no one available to leave our keys with and had to leave them with the front desk. They also left my car unlocked and unattended in front of the hotel for 10+ minutes while I waited for the guy to bring me my keys. Anyone could have gotten into my car. I understand that hotels can be older and things occasionally break, but there’s a difference between an older property and one that simply isn’t being properly maintained. Between the condition of the room, mold in the shower, lack of hot water, and an advertised amenity being unavailable without notice, this stay was nowhere near what we expected or paid for. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it.

The room was clean and the staff helpful with suggestions. They were able to switch my room when I realized I booked the wrong bed size.

The pool was being redone in August?

Based on the photos, I expected the room to be in better condition. I had reserved a room with a balcony, but unfortunately the balcony did not have any furniture. The room itself appeared somewhat dated, and several pieces of furniture showed signs of wear. The bathroom was quite small and could have benefited from better upkeep. Overall, my stay did not fully meet my expectations, and I was a bit disappointed.

Very disappointed the pool was closed. There was no notification anywhere. We chose this hotel because of the pool. Would have been nice to have because the temps were over 100 with the heat index. One the plus side, the hotel did upgrade us to a suite

Unfortunately the pool and gym were closed for repairs but the staff were really nice and made the stay enjoyable. Gio & DJ at Valet were very helpful and funny, Lewis at the bar and the other bartender were great and also had a good sense of humor! The staff at the restaurant were also very helpful. The room was fine, great view, amazing water pressure in the shower. That alone gets some extra credit😊

Pool and restaurant was closed. Unfortunately on a 95 degree day.

I liked the breakfast. Very tasty and fresh! Rusty faucets in the bathroom sink and tub. Dirt and grime noted in the corners of the room and bathroom. The cost for this hotel is definitely due to the location and not the facility. Also, pool and gym were closed during my stay without prior notice.

Floor was dirty. Balcony door was broken. Wife hated the stay and I had to deal with it the whole time. When you pay up for a balcony you expect a balcony and a clean floor…

The pool is being renovated. Didn’t describe in detail about pool.

Very good location, can walk around to see a lot of historical places.

The valet service was absolutely impeccable and was the highlight of my stay. The team was attentive, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make my experience enjoyable. They offered me water, assisted with my luggage, and were especially helpful with my elderly parents. They were fun, personable, and had fantastic personalities. Their warmth and willingness to help truly made a difference. The valet team really carried the experience for my stay, and I cannot say enough positive things about them. Their service was fantastic and greatly appreciated. The pool was closed because it was being serviced, and there was no concierge available until Thursday, the day I was leaving. The television was initially horrible, although the staff later fixed the issue. The bathroom and balcony also had chipped paint, which made the room feel poorly maintained. Additionally, breakfast was unavailable on one of the days during my stay. There was also no refrigerator or coffee maker in the room, which was disappointing and inconvenient. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the condition and amenities of the hotel and expected a much better experience.
