It’s what I usually expect for a Hampton Inn. Clean, cheap, easy quiet. No surprises. The free waffles closed the deal.

Nothing bad to report, it was just okay.

Upon arrival, I was informed that parking would cost an additional **$45 per night**. To be fair, I later found that the parking fee is disclosed in the fine print on Orbitz. However, what I did not appreciate was the receptionist's sarcastic response when I questioned the charge: essentially telling me that if I had read the information, I would have known about it. There is a professional way to explain hotel policies to a guest, and that was not it. More importantly, I cannot understand what justifies a $45 parking fee. There was no enhanced security, valet service, or anything else that would reasonably explain that price. It appears the hotel is simply charging resort-level prices because it happens to be located next to a resort—while not actually being the resort. The room itself was another disappointment. The mattresses were unbelievably hard and uncomfortable, to the point that they felt more like sleeping directly on box springs or cardboard than an actual hotel mattress. The room cleaning was also well below what I would consider an acceptable hotel standard. Housekeeping service being provided only every three days may now be hotel policy, but guests are still paying full hotel rates and should reasonably expect a clean, properly maintained room. The breakfast was good except for breakfast on one of the days that had a male attendant He was standing there watching TV and I asked if there was butter He said no. I asked what are people going to use on waffles and toast. He just shrugged his shoulders.

Our stay was good. Hotel was clean and the staff were all great.

Breakfast was typical hotel breakfast—nothing particularly special—but I did appreciate that it was available daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Overall, the stay was decent, but the TV issue and paid parking could definitely be improved.
