American Inn Sedalia

It appears that the rooms were under renovation and they were very dated. The linens were stained and questionably clean. One of the rooms had not been renovated at all and was very dated and partially painted. The nightstand in that room was missing half of its veneer. The beds in that room were very uncomfortable. There seemed to be people staying at this property long-term as well, and the safety was questionable.

The room was dirty and we seen bugs! The refrigerator had food from the prior occupants! The back of the desk chair was broke, almost fell back on the floor! The only positive is it’s location to the State Fairgrounds!

Room was okay. Stains on the blanket, random pill on the floor next to the bed, mini fridge not cleen, stains and mess in the shower, bathroom door was not even level and my friend got stuck. When we got the door open it would not even line back up to be able to close it. Woke up in the morning to roaches in the room. Staff was helpful but not very accommodating. Unfortunately I feel like people live in this hotel and they are out at all hours. I left at 4am and there were people outside. Very uncomfortable and slightly scary. Luckily they never approached us nor tried to speak to us. All in all I would not pay over $80 for this place no matter the time of year.

THE CHECK-IN LADY BILLED ME $47.00 MORE THAN I WAS SUPPOSED TO PAY; WHEN I GAVE ME THE BOOKING, SHE SHOUTED AT ME. BACK AT HOME THERE WAS A SORTING, I RECOVERED THE $47. BAD LIGHT IN THE ROOM, VERY LOUD AIR CONDITIONER, I WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN

Had to ask for toilet paper. Walls of rooms are chipping. Bathroom had 5 different decors dating through decades. Property was noisy with voices at all times of the night.

No breakfast. Did not supply coffee the 2nd morning. Kind of dingy, but clean

No TV controller, couldn’t get shower to work, shower curtain partially torn down.

We were extremely disappointed at the condition of the room. The queen bed was so close to the wall the person sleeping closest to the wall had to crawl across the foot of the bed to get in. Couldn't move the bed because of the frame. The lamps in the room were rusted on the bases. Only one set of towels for two people. No coffee cups or shampoo. There were roaches in the bathroom. We will never stay there again!

No refunds for early departure. Would never recommend this property

They don’t tell you on the website but even if you book online you have to pay a deposit and it doesn’t say that nowhere also I booked for a cheaper rate and they still tried to charge me more for the room I had no issues with the room it’s self you get what you paid for i will not be returning here souly on the staff I mean it wasn’t a lot for the deposit either I just only had enough for the room it’s self and had I known and then I forgot to put I had an infant and they made a huge deal about it even though my child is under a year old she said it would be more due to the fact I added a baby

We’ve now been in accommodation all the way across the US from New York. This is firmly the worst night we’ve had anywhere. And we’ve stayed in all sorts of places.

Website listed price was not honored by hotel after I had already made reservations. When I arrived they charged more for the room and said the website was incorrect. The room was very small, but clean. Check in was quick.

Staff was belittling, unhelpful and would not refund money for two of the nights we did not stay. Room was full of roaches, floor was very sticky and beds were crusty. Save your money and go somewhere else.
