Homewood Suites by Hilton Shreveport

Kitchen was not very well stocked with pots or pans. A little dated.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. After a 9-hour drive from Florida, we arrived at Homewood Suites Shreveport at 1:00 a.m. for our confirmed reservation, only to be told, “we messed up and we don’t have a room for you. I guess I should have called you.” They sent us to the Hilton Garden Inn. We specifically booked a room that was advertised to sleep six (2-queen suite with a pullout sofa). The replacement room had only 2 queen beds, no sofa - sleeping 4. When I pointed this out, the Homewood representative admitted our original room slept six but insisted they had honored our reservation because the replacement also had two queen beds. I asked, “Where are two of my children supposed to sleep?” His response: “I guess that’s something the parents will have to figure out.” They refused to provide or pay for a second room to accommodate their mistake. When I explained this wasn’t what I reserved or paid for, he said, “I can’t help you,” and then hung up on me. To make matters worse, we had to drive back to Homewood for a terrible breakfast. No communication, no accountability, and no effort to make things right. A simple phone call before our arrival could have allowed us to make other arrangements. Instead, they left an exhausted family of six without enough beds and acted like it was our problem to solve. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. Stay somewhere else. There are no redeeming qualities of this hotel. Zero stars.

The water pressure was terrible especially when taking a shower

The room was very spacious and included a full-size refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, and kitchenware. We only used the refrigerator, which was clean and working well. The room itself was a little dated and needed some minor maintenance including a loose toilet seat and showerhead replacement. The bathroom is large, but towels are a good 4 feet from the shower with no nearby hooks, which is inconvenient. Breakfast was adequate.

The front desk was less than friendly. When I arrived to my room the door was propped open. I felt very unsafe entering not knowing if someone was in there. I checked the room and found the bathroom to be dirty with hair in the sink and a used makeup sponge in the sink. The countertops were obviously not clean as well as the floor. I called the front desk to report the door being open and the room being dirty and feeling unsafe. I requested a different room and was told they were sold out and that housekeeping “sometimes leaves the door open”. She did over to send the maintenance guy. Not sure what good this would have done. He did come and I told him he was not needed and he also blamed it on housekeeping. I would definitely not recommend this hotel as it didn’t feel safe and was not clean at all. There are much better options for sure.
