Extended Stay America Select Suites Atlanta Cumberland Mall

The staff was police upon our arrival. After getting myself, my husband, and our two children out of the car and up to the second floor where our room was supposed to be, it was incredibly dirty and there was trash everywhere outside. We walked up to the room, I entered the door key and my son pushed the door open and we immediately saw that the beds were not made, there was a pizza box and other trash on one of the beds, and there was an empty Fanta bottle on the table. We immediately turned around and left and went straight to the lobby to "check out" and request a refund. Since I booked through a third party (Booking.com), they were unable to give me a refund. When speaking with the staff about why we were unhappy and wanted to immediately checkout, they explained the unclean room was because they were understaffed, however, right outside of the lobby was a woman detailing her vehicle while in the the hotel uniform. I will say, the gentleman who checked us in was polite, and the female that was with him while checking out was also police.

Area was dangerous, room was old and outdated. Water Luke warm and tubs stopped up in both bathrooms. Door to bathroom has been kicked in and similar damage to other items. Not worth the money paid at all. Cops had to come to stop people from fighting.

Awful hotel. First room had no deadbolt on the door, terrible stains on the floor and walls, and hair and stains on the "clean" sheets. The bathroom door had been kicked in, the tub was disgusting, and there was terrible water damage/cracking on the ceiling. They moved us to a "better" second room where the smoke alarm had smoke stains on the wall behind it and the ceiling. Front desk told us "that's just how they are." We had an event to attend, but Wofollowing the event we couldn't stay there so we left after finding another hotel at 2 am.

I booked a non-smoking room and when I opened the door to the room it was evident the room was previously smoked in. After getting a different room the next one had the tv on with a used sheet on the bed with the remote as if an employee was watching tv
