However, the lodge's natural surroundings and wildlife more than made up for it! The deer herds were large and beautiful; we saw several herds during our stay and were even greeted by a sweet deer family right in the parking lot as we were leaving. Between that and the amazing sunsets, it was breathtaking. There is nothing quite like waking up to a clear blue morning sky, sitting right among or directly above the clouds. A massive shoutout to Theresa at the front office—she was absolutely fantastic and provided stellar hospitality! Our room was spotless, well-maintained, and featured an incredibly comfortable bed with premium bedding. It came equipped with a handy kitchenette. While our specific room didn't have the gas fireplace or heated bathroom floor

Everything was Excellent. Easy check in/out.

I liked the parking garage to stay out of the weather.

We had never been to Snowshoe and I do realize we were there on Sunday. When we asked about dining options the attendant did not tell us there were a few open restaurants instead of just the two connected to their property which turned out to only be pizza. She also stated breakfast at Jake’s was five minutes down the road, which she should know they are closed on every Monday.

No breakfast offered at this hotel - that's poor. Get rid of the espresso machine in the room and provide an inexpensive 6-8 cup coffee maker instead. Offer some decent medium or dark roast and that's all most people want. The A/C unit was LOUD when it ran during the night (awakened us a few times) and never cooled to temp requested.

It was off-season for the ski resort, so was largely shut down . There was only one restaurant open for dinner plus a Starbucks. No breakfast was provided.

Everything was great except for no restaurants were open and we had to travel aways to find any.

The worst thing about the room was the flashing lights on the ceiling at night from the smoke alarm and from the movement sensor. If we just turned over in bed the sensor would start flashing. Ridiculous! The coffee in the room didn't taste good. The mattresses weren't bad, but could be more comfortable for sleeping. The sound of the AC kicking off and on during the night was rather loud and disturbed our sleep. The fan was also loud for sleeping. Stairwells smell bad (one of us gets dizzy on elevators). The kitchen sink broke down on its own while we were away; apparently it had been glued to the underside of the counter and the glue gave way (?).

Clean, quiet room

The hotel is situated great for huckster mtn bikers with the lift across the street. Biggest negative is there’s not many places open for food and entertainment in the summer. There’s also NO cell service, so be prepared to be cut off from making phone calls!! Otherwise the scenery is stunning and the property itself is nice.

2 - HVAC - Very noisy when it is running. 3 - Hallway temperature is very cold (59 degrees reading) on the 3rd floor thermostat located near elevators. 4 - checkout - There was no one at registration desk at 7:35 am to check me out. Problem is I was required to leave a deposit of $100.00 on a credit card to cover anything I might need. With no one there, how am I getting that deposit refunded or removed from that card? 5 - Lack of food service in the whole area doesn’t warrant a return visit.

Checking in after ‘regular’ hours was horrible. The ‘automated’ system would not work. I found my reservation, but the system would not advance to allow me to create room keys. I exited and retried multiple times. I called the numbers posted for assistance and was unable to reach anyone. I left messages and waited for a reply. Finally, after 45 minutes Travis responded and was able to get in touch with the company that supports the check-in system. He was able to reset the system and help me with creating the room keys. The check-in person through the camera at the kiosk had difficulty finding my reservation in order to create keys as well. Finally, after being there an hour fighting with the check-in kiosk and waiting on responses, we were able to get into our room. There needs to be someone at the front desk at night to respond to difficulties and check guests in.

It was a great value and the check-in was very easy

Complications caused by multiple buildings. Vending machines were not working.

We were very pleased with our stay. The staff was courteous and helpful and especially LaRissa at the front desk, she was great to deal with and very accommodating.
