Steam Plant Hotel Spokane, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Excellent breakfast. Instead of a standard hotel breakfast they gave a voucher for a breakfast at a very good nearby restaurant.

Construction in progress but free parking across the street, just be ready for the noise, breakfast is one block away but delicious

The room was nicely clean and ready for the traveler.

Disappointing

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean. Location was excellent— super walkable to the Riverfront Park. Easy parking. This is more of a MOTEL setting, with access to the rooms from outside. The walls are VERY thin. The train tracks are right there and the train runs all night (though they do provide earplugs). There is no fitness room as was advertised (that is now a laundry room). You could use a fitness center at a sister hotel a few blocks away. The complementary breakfast is a walk and a half away at Rosie’s but was quite tasty. If you don’t want what they offer for the complementary breakfast, they give you a discount on the regular menu.

Blood spot on the sheet. Tv was not working. Behind tv was covered in dust. Moved to different room and there was no light bulbs.

They provided earplugs so we couldn't hear the train noise while sleeping Parking area was unavailable due to some repairs.

Exceptional

I was unaware at time of booking that they were resurfacing their parking lot. We had to park across the street. The strong varnish smell of the resurfacing leaked into the room. Other than that the hotel is located downtown and within walking distance of an array of coffee shops, food spots and shopping.

Passing trains did not wake me up.

I enjoy staying here due to the location. The construction in the parking lot was started at 8am sharp but they have parking across the street. The included breakfast at their partner cafe was great. Nice walk across the adjoining block. Rooms might need some carpet updates but overall it is a nice, clean property.

Perfect for a quick trip in and out of town. Super walkable location. Everyone there was so nice. Everything was grand. The pressure in the shower wasn’t incredible. But that’s really just about it.

There were bed bugs and a train that ran all day and night right in front of the hotel but no mention of the train in the hotel description. The management has been non responsive to the issues with the room.

I was charged an additional fee for parking and breakfast. GM didn’t contact me back until two hours before I departed. I’m still being charged 10.00 more for each day.

This is a basic, clean, comfortable motel that feels safe, has good parking and is in easy walking distance to some great downtown amenities. I was not impressed with the "free" breakfast at Ruby's - there was a long wait, it only includes about 3 menu choices, or a nominal discount on anything else, and to be honest while the staff was nice, the food was not anything special. Better options are around, but if you're really on a budget it's ok. Five stars on the value of the stay, though.
