Inn at 835 Boutique Hotel

It’s a wonderful historical property with lots of charm. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is more than the average hotel breakfast being served individually. The room was clean and had everything I needed. It even had a shared balcony.

The staff was friendly, informative, and extremely helpful! Everyone had a kind thing to say and a smile on their face. Lovely building and comfortable bed and room. We especially loved the cookies at our door in the evening!

Beautiful. Nice location. Historic. Nice breakfast included. We could walk to the Frank Lloyd Wright house for a (free) tour I think it’s time to replace the mattress and buy new sheets (scratchy)

Great check in, comfortable room, safe parking right next to mansion. I left very early in the morning so didn't have breakfast but enjoyed my stay and recommend!

We loved our stay here! The room was clean and quaint. We stayed in the Dahlia room and it looks just like it did originally. We went out to dinner, and came back to fresh baked cookies outside our door. In the morning, we had an amazing free breakfast that was hot and fresh. It was scrambled eggs, bacon, fruit, muffins and roasted potatoes. Highly recommend, and if we’re ever in the area, we will stay here again.

Beautiful building. Good location for going out from for sightseeing. Breakfast was very good!! We were in the Bell house. It was in great need of a refresh. Larger TV would be nice. Couch was uncomfortable.

Very nice place with attentive staff.

We were led to a “cottage at the back of the property, following a walkway that was overgrown with weeds. The room had a bad smell (carpet?) to it and was sort of dark and depressing. I do appreciate that they refunded our money.

The suite we used was amazing, it was spacious and had many nice touches.

The staff are kind and helpful and the little touches like evening cookies make the stay special. If you like charm and character, this is the inn for you but not so much if you're looking for modern minimalism. Room was clean and quiet. Breakfasts were very good.

Staff was great even though we were late. The room was small but clean and comfortable. Breakfast and company was great! Would highly recommend this place if doing a Route 66 trip!

Comfortable

We loved the Poppy Room. Indeed, the entire building is a beautiful artifact of the early 20th century. (I loved the history in the welcome packet.) Parking is a breeze. The Inn sits on a residential street and thus, the room was very quiet. It even has an elevator which I, with my arthritic knees, really enjoyed. The staff brought us homemade cookies even though we couldn't attend the Social Hour in the evening. Just a couple of items would have made this a five-star review: our room didn't have a hair dryer; and the breakfast was disappointing. A tasteless scrambled egg, and an inedible pancake. I would love to come back and try other rooms if we get back to Springfield.

This is a beautiful old home / historic apartment building with solid oak furniture and trim everywhere. We stayed in the Dahlia Room, with a big claw footed bathtub / shower combo and a lovely view of the street. The hot breakfast is freshly made for you each morning. There are cold cereals and toast / bagels as well. There are Keurig coffeemakers in the rooms; we enjoyed having coffee in bed each morning of our stay. (Note that there is not daily housekeeping but if you need anything, they will gladly get it for you.) In the late afternoons, they put out cheese and crackers and lemonade for the guests. We'd stayed for two nights and got two free drinks and desserts at one of their restaurants downtown. Plenty of parking in the lot. It's a few minutes drive from downtown. We'd stay here again. It was a great experience - much more peaceful and spacious than a hotel room.
