State House Inn, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The State House Inn worked out great for me! I was in Springfield for an event at the IL State Fairgrounds and the hotel was only about 12 minutes away and nicer than most other options. My only disappointment was that the room did not have a mini fridge to put my bottled water in? Thank you

Very nice clean room. Continental breakfast was good

Breakfast was Good................

Clean room with comfortable beds. The outside looks a little deserted, but the inside feels updated. The breakfast was good: waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, toast, etc.

Room Was dirty. Breakfast potatoes were not cooked all the way. Shower had little water pressure. Water leaked on bathroom floor from shower. No microwave that works in lobby or room

Hotel was just okay, you pay for what you get. Beds were lumpy and shower didn’t have any soap in dispenser?

Good location, easy parking, and convenient amenities. There was a fire in the middle of the night when I was there and we all had to be evacuated at 4 AM, but that was obviously not the fault of the management (and the emergency personnel were very helpful, kept everything well-contained, and got us back in an hour later). They were extremely kind and generous, and I would definitely stay there again in the future. The only complaint is the fact that I was right near the elevators and heard them all day and all night. I didn't sleep very well because of that (and the fire alarms!). Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay. Thank you.

Good location and spacious room.

The property seems to be going through updates. Overall it seemed to be in good condition. The room was large and clean. The breakfast was decent. WiFi signal was weak. Lots of parking. Bedding was fine. The paper products in the bathroom were thin and cheap, as were the towels. I am very much not a fan of the practice of putting a charge on my card for "incidentals" when there are no incidentals available.

This property is older so some areas are hard to tell if they're dirty or just old. But this is a good downtown location in a quieter area. All of the staff were friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The cost was about $100/night for 1 king bed. I was disappointed to find they do not have mini frig or microwaves in these rooms. However the room was clean, air conditioning worked, the shower was nice, too. I do like the policy of not doing unneeded or unwanted daily housekeeping services. For service you just need to ask. Management says they are in the process of improving conditions there. I'll wait for those upgrades before coming back.

Terrible

Close handicap parking. Parking lot a bit tight however

The worst experience of my life. I arrived at 2am and was given a room with a dirty bathroom and bathtub that was visibly soiled. I complained and was taken to two other rooms where that bathrooms and rooms were dirty. The receptionist went and got us a room and that one had bed bugs. The breakfast was disgusting. The last night we were there the fire alarm went off and we were outside in the cold for about an hour. As soon as I got back I packed my stuff and left.

Great staff and Clean rooms

The staff was very friendly and the room was very nice. Plenty of parking and the breakfast was good.

Reading reviews, I was leary. Comparing my experience to the reviews, you can’t beat the price and goes to show for me that reviews are nice but I’m glad I only read them after I booked. (Which I would typically read reviews first and not sure why I didn’t this time tbh.) We had a 10/10 overall experience at a great price. The hotel lobby is nice, new and appeared clean. We had a top floor room and it was completely fine. Bed comfy. No noises that kept me awake. Brought my own pillow so can’t attest to theirs. Blankets/sheets comfy and clean. The bathroom flooring and shower just needs updated IMO but it didn’t affect our stay. The reviews state as well as the email from the hotel after booking that there is a limited continental breakfast, but we slept in too long and missed it however at 9am departure, I smelled bacon so I can’t assume it was all that bad? but I can’t say for sure. Staff was very friendly, efficient, polite. Parking easy. Seems like a fine area, a block from the Capitol. The closest parking lot was full when we arrived back to the hotel for the night but we got upfront street parking. I’d stay again.

Unlimited coffee and the breakfast was nice.

It is ok. Nothing special. No microwave or fridge in our room. There wasn't a trash basket either. We did mention that to the front desk, said they had one in our room. Never seen one. The breakfast was good. Room was comfortable.
